Horoscopes in HOMM?
Now here is my most interesting invention. Have you ever thought about adding horoscopes to HOMM? They belong into the middle age mythology so I think they could be a great addition.
So, each hero could have an own horoscope sign that could give him or her various bonuses. First I'm thinking of bonuses for spell casting: Because each horoscope sign belongs to a specific element, that could give a bonus for all spell casting of the same element, such as 50 % bonus for fire spells for all heroes that are Aries's. Then there could be another bonus that depends of the type of the sign, such as archery bonus for all Sagittarius heroes.
What do you think of this? My suggestion is - let's think together could it be sensible to add this invention or not.

Sagamosa had close ideas to your, and it took him 2 years of work, still not finished. Idea is nice, but it needs 155 different setups, probably new graphics too, then long time testing balance. Not for the noobies.

Coincidentally, "Hidden Spells" contains a new object (in the Hold of Astrology) which gives weekly horoscopes to visiting Heroes with bonuses or penalties. I just happen to have a picture of it:
There are thousands of WoG maps (Grayface's torrent download contains about 3500 of them, and they are all several years old), and each implements new features, from Gregor Minchev's Fire Dragons to Doc Sumann's invisible castle. Jump in - the water is fine.

Why 155?
Twelve signs (or more, Enroth isn't Earth), randomly placed presets for heroes, maybe - some other features (e.g. objects).
Anyway, I think that it is useless.

There is already a similar system existing in erm. Your hero already can have boni or mali, called blesses and curses. It is not exactly what you proposed, but something similar. It's just that these blessings and curses are not widely used in WoG.
I'm currently doing a new set of scripts. One of the features of a necromancer is, if he has some skill combination he curses his opponent. Currently blind, slow and loss of money is done. Loss of mana points will be one of the next things. And BTW, i've added a "morale infliction" to necromancers: They add their own morale as a delta to their opponent at the beginning of a battle. If you have a warriors tomb nearby, just visit it before battle. Seems quite nice, quite well fitting.
For blessings i currently have no idea on what to base them.
