Elvin, I hate to ask as I dont like the notion of 'insiders'..
But, if your post is informed, could you hint whether you mean that second expansion will NOT be academy, or just that the Elves will be coming later on?

I have said what I know, I was just reminding the obvious: References and artwork mean absolutely nothing as far as future H6 factions are concerned. There has been sylvan artwork just as there has been academy artwork for a while now, they do not mean anything more than the Dragon God artwork, none made an appearance in the game. Ubi attempted to promote and solidify the Ashan setting and what makes it unique in various ways, some of which made it in H6, others that will appear in future games. H6 is just a narrow look at Ashan as there is a lot more going on than we have been shown. The desert orcs, the dwarves, the sea elves, the shanriya nagas, the wizards and so on. Some of those have appeared in duel of champions.
From the duel of champions addon, Void Rising:
(PS duel of champions has minimal storyline so far, missions are unlocked gradually as the game is still in beta and they have the structure of a military campaign than a detailed story.)
Sanctuary - Shanryia
Nagas have long been known to live in the great depths of the Oceans, but this common knowledge is only part of the truth. There is a great peak of eternal ice within the Deep Mountains where, according to legends, the daughters of the Eternal Empress are trapped. This mystical place is said to be home to the Shanryia Nagas, masters of freezing magical arts and keepers of secrets.
Inferno - Hellfire
Sheogh, the Inferno prison world, is filled with great fiery pits hungry for flesh and torment. From its burning veins are born some of the most devastating creature in existence: the Hellfire demons. Sensing the destructive power of the Void, these demons seek to destroy it at its roots, for they are the true harbingers of destruction.
Stronghold - Blackskull Clan
At the heart of the Deep Mountains lives an ancient Clan of Orcs banned by the other Orcs for their bloodlust. Lusting for the power of the great Chaos Dragon vein, these orcs have hoarded so much Dragon Crystal that their body and minds have been twisted by Chaos. Pouring down from the mountains, the Orcs started raiding the Free Cites and are now forcing their way into the Empire.
Haven - Wolf Duchy
The legendary resolve of the Wolf Duchy has been tested during the Second Blood Eclipse. As they work on rebuilding their land, they are called upon to aid the Free Cities besieged by the Blackskull Orcs. This threat is not the only danger they must face, as Ariana secretly seeks to invade their lands as well. The time has come for the Wolves to test their undying mettle on the field of battle.
Necropolis - Ariana's forces
Under the influence of Ariana of the Severed Fates, many Necromancers of Nar-Heresh fell prey to the promises of power of the Void and serve without question. Amassing a great army within her lair, she intends have her forces join with the sinister master of the Void lurking at the Throne of Renewal. Her plans are monitored by a secret covenant of Vampire assassins whose agenda has yet to be revealed.

War overlord, its their responsibility to uphold the NDA, not mine, isnt it? Seeing as Jollyjoker has openly stated the lineup that still has not been officially revealed, they either allowed to pass some info or dont care about it. I just hate getting subtle hints - i want to get some solid info, is it too much to ask from a company that i purchase so many games from?
Elvin, thanks for the reply. I just hope the Academy will make it to the next expansion - Heroes will never be complete without them..

I suggest you to play HoMM1-3 first and then talk about Heroes game not being complete without Academy.

I hope H6 won't be the only one lacking the hippie elves. 
But if the Santa read my letter, then maybe we can have a chance of having 2 factions in a 2nd exp.
I think, overall, tote was bigger than hammers of fate, wasn't it? However we had things like sim turn and random map gen in hof..

i thought the hint about Academy development was quite solid!
i dont mean the artwork,

No, it seems my metaphore was too unclear. Making a new Academy from scratch is easier. Because working with those remnants that are there, risks ruining every other line of code there is.

well Elvin just pass along to ubisoft that almost the entire homm community wants academy and sylvan in at least. So they shouldnt stop at 2.
We can live without the dwars however. The staples must be in.

Personally, I believe Elvin and many other insiders have made this abundantly clear. Their pessimism on the subject does not give high hopes.

Heroes 6 didn't sell good enough to make many more expansion..
if all of a sudden everyone buy Shades of darkness,
then maybe ubi will consider more expansions!
but i doubt that.. highly.. i mean the high sales.. yes..
