The Elder Scrolls Online
Elder Scrolls Online
Sooooo, anybody else mulling over getting into this once it comes out? I need something to rot my brain.
I can already see it now if I get this game: me sitting at the computer for several hours in torturous indecision over what character I want to make, only to change my mind a few days later.
I bet they'll have at least one Roleplaying server too I can be all like 'TIS WHETHER NOBLER TO SMASH YOU WITH HAMMER OR TO SET YOU ON FIRE', except I'd totally say something more creative than that.

It was only a matter of time until they came out with a MMORPG based on ES. But I think I'll pass. I've never done the MMORPG thing and don't plan on starting any time soon. It would undoubtedly wreak havoc on my life.

I like the dominion, a ****ing shame that you can't be on good terms with them in Skyrim (as in Story) I don't give two ****s about either Ulfric or the Empire, they're both utterly inapt. Worst thing is, I'm never given a good reason to hate the Dominion, the game makes 0 ****ing mention of why they're bad, the only thing is the banning of Talos. And making them aggressive and complete pricks is unjustified.
Back to the point, I'll prolly try this out so that I can finally pway around with the Dominion, seeing how TeS 5 utterly deprived me of it.
Also: Alliances at war.

This is why I play rangers in TES games
Badassery.
EDIT:
Also seems like they changed their minds about how elves are supposed to look again... dat high elf looks really classical LOTR elven. Shame.

snowing bishoujo elves again, screw them
Also, worst armour, EVER. What use is an armour if it only takes a thrown knife to penetrate it?
Looks like we'll get at least two, maybe three factions against the Empire, Aldmeri, some random group plus the norns.
Am highly suspicious though, looks really bad and will probably be a huge letdown. Let's hope not.

You're probably going to want to play a character that has some sort of decent ranged capabilities. The PVP aspect of the game will take place in Cyrodiil, where the 3 different factions vie for control of the forts in the disputed province. I played Dark Ages of Camelot in the past, which was similarly structured, and when you have mass PVP siege scenarios, sometimes the melee characters can sit around on their thumbs. I always prefer to be doing something if I can.
The game takes place a millennium prior to the events in Skyrim.

Ah, so it's going to be like Planetside 2, where three factions vie for map control.

Yeah, except it's in Cyrodiil where the **** hits the fan in PvP, and then you have the home provinces of each of the respective factions. The home provinces seem to be where you do the typical non-PVP MMORG stuff. I'm not sure if there's any crossing over into the other provinces if you choose a particular faction (Dark Age of Camelot was the same way in this regard). So the Redguards, Bretons, and Orcs are all buttbuddies in the northwest, and then the Nords, Argonians, and Dunmer are buttbuddies in the east, and then the Altmer, Bosmer, and Khajiit are buttbuddies down south, and then Cyrodiil is one giant orgy of pain. Or at least that's the way I conceptualize it.
As of January 23rd, ima be a Breton rogue. Anybody that wants to hang out with the cool kids (i.e. me) is going to have to sign up with the Daggerfell Covenant. Of course, this is all going to change 12 times before I get started, but nevermind the details. I normally avoid joining betas, cause betas are ghey, but if it's not being released until later in 2013 I might just break down and sign up anyway. They don't seem to have an exact release date.
edit: Actually I'm going to be a Redguard rogue, and it's going to be awesome.

Yeah lol. In the mean time the Bosmer and Khajiit are given squirrel-taming power and temporary see-better-in-the-dark. Race balance isn't really a big deal in a single player game though. I'm sure race abilities have been adjusted for TES online.
