[TOWN IDEA/REQUEST] The Hive - Zerg town!

First of all, don't flame me that I should just do it myself and whatnot.
I simply lack the skills needed to make it work. :/

Alright, so recently, I was struck with an idea of implementing the Zerg from StarCraft into Heroes 3 universe.
You might say they don't fit here - you're kinda right. But honestly, they make much more sense than Terrans or Protoss. (excluding the Forge, which is a totally different kind of technology)

The town itself would be called the Hive and would (probably) replace the Conflux - as with most towns. But who likes Conflux anyway?

Hive would be, essentially, a reverse Forge - individually weak units, but produced in huge numbers and fairly cheap.

This is only loosely based on the Zerg, since one can't incorporate mechanics like the creep or mutation into Heroes 3.

UNITS LINEUP:
1. Zerglings -> War Zerglings - created at the Spawning Pool
Basic Zerg units. Fast, but have low health and defense. Their growth rate is on par, or maybe even higher than the Pixies. Raptors can fly.

2. Roaches -> Prowlers - created at the Roach Warren.
Much tankier than the Zerglings, Roaches have 2-hex attacks, and Prowlers can burrow (ie. teleport).

3. Mutalisks -> Fiends - created at the Spire/Greater Spire.
Airborne AND ranged units. Will attack all enemy units around the original target (but it's not stricte area of effect attack, although for the sake of mechanics it should be)

4. Hydralisks -> Hunter Killers - created at Hydralisk Den.
Ranged units. Hunter Killers can shoot twice. (an indirect reference to original Hunter Killers, which had double the attack and HP of a regular Hydralisk) Also, they have no melee penalty.

5. Lurkers -> Impalers - created at Lurker Den
They are able to burrow like Prowlers, but they can strike and return. Impalers also block enemy retaliation.

6. Vipers -> Cobras - created at Viper Pit
Airborne spellcaster. Can cast (expert-level) Forgetfulness on enemy stacks. Cobras can also cast (advanced-level) Bloodlust.

7. Ultralisk -> Torrasque - created at Ultralisk Cavern.
Big and scary, they possess lifesteal ability and no enemy retaliation, albeit are somewhat weaker than other L7 units. (they have, however, a base growth of 2, much like the Firebirds/Phoenixes)

If it turns out that it just doesn't make sense/is bad, this lineup can be changed at almost anytime - there are more than enough Zerg breeds for a good bunch of creatures.

As you can see, the Hive would have (when fully upgraded) 3 flying units (one of which is ranged attacker), 2 teleporting units, 3 ground units (one ranged included).

A fairly uncommon lineup, don't you think?

BUILDINGS
Zerg (almost) don't use magic, therefore the Mage Guild (however it might look like) is limited to level 3.
The castle is essentially the Hatchery/Lair/Hive from StarCraft.
Dunno about the City Hall's design

SPECIAL BUILDING
Nydus Network - allows you to teleport units to any other Hive with Nydus Network. (think Inferno's Gate of Dimensions? Sorry, don't know the English name)
Some sort of building that strengthens your units during a siege?
Evolution Chamber -  allows you to transform any lvl 1-5 unit to a Hive unit of its respective level. (Pikemen to Zerglings, Magogs to Prowlers etc.)
Horde buildings for Roaches and Lurkers. (levels 2 and 5)
Grail Building - Virophage. Aside from regular grail bonuses, allows conversion of level 6 and 7 units in Evolution Chamber.

Native terrain - either Dry (Necropolis) or a new one (Creep).
Town theme?
Hero names - undecided.

This is, for now at least, the most I can do.
If someone picks it up at a later date, that would be great.
But for now - take your time with what you're doing currently, guys.

"Changelog"

1.1?
- Swarms Hosts/Carrions replaced with Vipers/Cobras
-- thus, Locusts/Harpies consequentially removed from the lineup
- Raptors renamed to War Zerglings

1.0
- initial post

The line is a bit boring without any spellcasters. I would have Infestor in the mix, or Queen as a support unit!

And Zergling should definately be upgraded to Crackling! ;P

Defilers would be awesome, creates a 3x3 area clould that can't shoot ^^ Would work well with melee zerg.

I had an idea for Defilers, but couldn't really think of a dwelling (I suppose that's not really a big problem). I also wanted to call
Zergling upgrades either Speedlings or Cracklings, but Raptors is a bit more "canon", shall we say.

Vipers, maybe?

I would like to see a town which has a lot of insects in it!

Especially spiders and Mantiss(es?) from Heroes 4, but everything goes as long as it's fun.

Added a changelog of sorts to the main post.
Removed the Swarm Hosts from the lineup (and thus the Locusts) and replaced them with a spellcasting Viper.

Should be fun!
(also, what war machine should Hive's Forge produce?)

Also, those who played both StarCrafts probably do know that War Zerglings didn't fly. Cut me some goddamn slack already, it's not 100% reconstruction of the Zerg (which couldn't be possible, since HoMM is a turn-based strategy whereas StarCraft is real-time).

something i may make, eventually. we can call it "The Hive".

but, seriously tho- i have spiders, scorpions, mantises, a wasp(actually, it a wierd-looking thing, i would prefer a more natural-looking one)... besides the wasp that doesn't have the stupid sword and shield. when i put my diablo 2 game on the new computer (the extracted data was lost with the last computer when i beat it too many times), i will have a cloud of tse-tse flies. that leaves, what? this can be done sooner, rather than later, if there is adequate supplies of insects. i could make it quicker than my FEAR castle, because those units would be mostly from scratch. i have been going thru a different site that itsjustme turned me onto(that i am finding is the source for almost all the new material besides my own original work), but i don't have familiarity with 3d software, so that'll take awhile. plus the program downloads i was able to find will probably be sub-standard for the work involved...
