just get rid of the old one(i tried to do that with the old post uploads in this thread; forgot i can't edit them). they're embarassing, compared to the new upload. like comparing a child's early crayon scribbles to an established painter's significant work.
*forgot entirely about warning that this upload isn't backwards-compatible. updated new release post.

be careful, playing with stuff involving this game is really addictive. my car still has bad brakes, i still haven't gotten a job, and i still haven't been active about going to college yet. 2 years later.

And finally this is out!
Great work, Fred79!
Unbelievable number of DEFs.
I think I'll spend several months getting these objects to work in VCMI
Resources DEFs are the best.
PS Seems you also redrawn most of objects from previous patch (like bridges). Titanic work.

thanks for the kind words everyone.
@ macron: not sure which bridges you're mentioning(i just realized today, that you mean the bridges with roads i redid, because i have new roads in my patch. silly me), but i seperated the bridges and their shadows, as two seperate defs(like i did with the sky islands). that way, you can walk on the bridges, and their shadows still show up in-game. i did the same with the unreleased(?) HotA bridge(i seperated the piers with the shadows too, so the hero walks behind them when walking over it), and i did the same with all of my docks for the swamp(for use overtop of marshes) and ocean. it will take some practice to place them correctly.
@ all: until i make the tutorial thread, just remember to place the bridge/dock/piers first(after the marshes, if you're using them), then drag and drop the shadows onto the middle of the def, and walah; you have objects that the hero can walk on, and with shadows, in-game. the ideas that can be spawned from such a thing is pretty neat, and beyond my own imagination, i suspect. i hope i stoke some imagination with this stuff; because the more ideas, the better.
i also made it easier to erase the sky islands and their shadows, should someone need to move anything around later. i placed the pixel to delete in the base(underside) of all the sky islands.

You should specify in readme about the shadows. I had no clue how to use the "transparent bridges".

I've got small request, Fred: could you pack your old objects together with the new ones? Just put those old files named FRED000... to the new FREDOBJ.pac. I don't need to use them, but my map with thousands of old objects is useless now. I would do it by myself, but links to previous versions of your mod seem to be dead.

the good objects in the last patch are in the new patch, with better versions, minus an insignificant few that i didn't think anyone would really use. that's what the warning in bold red letters was for: if you wanted to keep your current maps with my old objects, then you had to install this new patch over a different Heroes folder(another copy of your game).
i've had to replace countless old graphics in my old maps, as i upgraded. this has been a constant in my map making. it sucks, but i have to do it, if i want my maps in tip-top shape.
that said, if there were certain things that either of you wanted transferred over from the old patch(and that didn't have improved, or new versions of), in the new patch; then you could specify, and i could make new or improved versions of them for you.
but throwing any old versions of old work into my new patch for the sake of continuity, is akin to throwing copper pennies in with gold coins. i wouldn't ruin the quality of the current patch, by soiling it with unchanged and horrible objects from the old one.
i hope this response both clears things up, and doesn't darken your moods any. i am willing to accomodate, but within reason.

i deleted all of my old uploads(along with anything old that i considered obsolete) in my mediafire online folder. i apologize for the inconvenience. if i can find the next-to-latest upload in my old files, i will upload it for you. but i think i deleted them all; so don't go getting your hopes up. i apologize again.
on the plus side, if i find that i don't have it, i'm sure someone else here should.

There is no need to keep old patch. If any of you already designed a map with old patch, release it as stand alone, all patch objects in map's lod.
