The two dragons are awesome and the other screens look cool too.
Thanks for providing them.
What has happened to the stripping process BTW?

thanks, kivo.
@ ml: if, by "stripping process", you mean nude-ing up the game, then, it's on the list, along with 1,540,293 other things i plan on doing, that have mostly been started, and are incomplete.
-----
current things i have made: pavement terrain patches for forge(plus all forge terrain-related stuff); more realistic(and varying) rain than what is currently in wog; all 7 of the original terrains made into terrain patches(some with many different colors); new grass, fog, rock, and snow; various other objects that i have pulled from other games; fly swarms, and bee swarms(along with nests); spring trees; both wooden and iron cages; sky islands and airships; redone old buildings and statue's; alien plant life and ufo(for alien invasion theme i am working on, including aliens, mech drones, and their outposts); swamp lakes, waterfalls, and cliffs; a new werewolf dwelling(and other dwellings to match the creatures i am replacing); new clouds and cloud formations; and lastly, space stuff for planeswalkers(that isn't pictured, like earth, and the moon).
there are many more things i am going to be making, the list is really long, i have 28 gigs worth of things to make(that i haven't made yet), give or take. and i'm always finding new stuff online to add, as well. this is just to give ya'll an idea of what's on my plate.

why would any h3 modder ever be done with mapmaking? are you just more focused on erm now, or is it real life that draws you away from modding?
and thanks, sal.
--------
speaking of map making, if i do put out another patch, i should put out the maps i've been fooling around with for a handful of years, also. i don't know if they're strategic enough for the hardcores. probably not, lol. i'd have to make some subtle changes, here and there...

Congratulations, fred,I knew your work is appreciated.
Your worries about the opposite should be left behind now.
The qp might as well be a reminder to make an upload soon.

sal, did you ever fix those tree defs?
what i am talking about
and, btw: i want to know how to animate trees myself. if i understand correctly, you animated the newest version of the trees(AWESOME job), and i wanted to know how you did it, so i could do it for the new cove trees, and any not already done. i want ALL the foliage to move!

you used 3dx max? more hi-tech than i thought. i thought it was just an algorithm variation for pixelation, through photoshop or something. thanks for the update.
-----------------
a mod i want to make, darker subterranea(can't be a mod, as it doesn't change anything. the stuff i am making for subterranean caves will be put, along with everything else, in an updated objects patch):
----
here is a visual update. the only thing i have to do is find a way to blend the lighter terrain patches with the darker, so they flow more smoothly:
hmmm... alternatively, i can reshade the newer moving water defs, and use them for water, if i don't want anything light, underground.

Now this is an interesting effect. But you will have problems with objects because the answer to your question is NO. Erm alone does not allow graphic manipulations.

I think it's very interesting,fred!
It's like putting the area scouted from H4 when moving the hero into H3.

thanks for the answer, sal. like i said, it won't really be necessary, i was just curious.
thanks, ml.
------
outside the cave entrance:
--
i need to make a puzzle-piece shadow, that not only fits up and down, but side to side. then, i will have to make more, with the lighter colors on the exterior, so that they blend into it. might just have to make squares of shadow, as unappealing as that idea is to me.
----
ok, the square shadow puzzle piece works to fill in the bulk, now i will have to make the edge pieces.
----
i cannot fix the edges of the land, where they meet the water, underground(as the shadows for the water overlap the land). so, i have to use the original subterranean terrain, and original rock terrain, then, use those shadow defs to fill the entire underground area. i have to do it twice, so that the shading is right.
on the plus side, i've already done the stalagmites, and plateau-rock.
i'll eventually end up getting the effect i want.
--------
this is what just the underground will look like now:

sal, i checked the avlpntr6.def in the new upload(2.46), and it is a copy of avlpntr7.def. it's not fixed. just to let you know.
--------
i think the shadows are done. i forgot that a cave entrance is usually more edged, and doesn't blend much, if at all.

Hmm, the effect is very innovative, looks gorgeous but I think it should be done with some plugin combined with erm. IE: script each square to lose luminosity.
Because the way you do it, there is no way to place any interactive object in that area, they will be highlighted from thin air.
