Thanks. I am very sorry to have made you or anyone feel like an idiot. I know that learning programming for the first time is difficult and involves a new way of thinking, especially for those who don't like math in general. But such people are valuable in many other ways.

I would like to think that everyone could learn ERM and would enjoy doing so if they went about it the "right" way. That is what motivates my lectures. On the other hand I know that I will never be much of a graphic artist or musician or writer or ... (but maybe I can get better if I try harder).

Don't worry about it, I'm not offended. I just posted the picture because you were "shouting" at me and thought I'd make a little joke about it. I'm happy you took it well. I do very much appreciate the information you have given me and I'm looking into it. But yeah coding isn't something I quickly pick up and I'm gonna have to start with the basics.

If you'd like to know more about writing story lines and designing characters I advise you to check out http://tvtropes.org/ which is a wiki about popular media (TV, movies, books, video games) and is specifically about all the cliches and stereotypes that get used over and over again in different combinations.

They have a page about Heroes Of Might and Magic too.

It's not like you'll find tips on how to write stories and stuff but it can be inspiring to browse through it. I hope you'll find it at least entertaining.

SoD It

Halfway there, probably as far as I'll go:

With this useless little Era 2 mod (SoD It.zip) you can click the right side of the Specialty Text box (where the pointer is in the above screen-captures) to see the Specialty Text for a Hero. If you single-click (either RMB or LMB) it will display for two seconds. If you double-click, it will display until you move the mouse.

The zip file contains an Era 2 mod file, which is intended to be extracted into an Era 2 "Mods" folder. Then it has to be enabled in the Mod Manager. After that, any wogified map should produce the results above, unless there is some sort of conflict with other mods. I tested with WoG, Yona, Secondary Skills Scrolling, Fast Animation, and Artillery Artifacts active.

There is some chance that it might produce gibberish on a different system, if my UN:C address isn't as universal as it has been so far on my machine. If so I will do more searching on different PC's.

The font weight is a bit heavier than the other text. I think it adds gravitas.

Since my advice is perceived as shouting and cursing here, I'll take it elsewhere except for one last note: don't call me "sir". I'm not an officer, I work for a living.

I never said anything about cursing...

But sure, if you don't feel rewarded enough for your help then don't help. Simple as that. Although I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who appreciates you changing the speciality box back to vanilla. In fact if you finish that project I promise I won't use it. Don't let me be the reason why you wouldn't finish something, that would be childish.

Oh, I don't think you are the reason he does not finish it, it's just that such mod has no interest for him, much work for only visual issues.
It's me who wanted to create a sod it mod but I got stuck at gods icons. I will look into the uploaded mod and see what can be done further.
