On top of targeting being bad they're also shooting flies with a shotgun.
Kills the flies but makes your house full of holes.

Quote: People, get real, it's like a war, and in that war our side has introduced a couple of very powerful weapons over the centuries. One of those weapons are antibiotics. There is nothing to discuss about the use of them, since they've been a blessing - but they didn't win the war, and the other side's survivors are fighting back.
In terms of statistics, of course they've been a blessing. Before modern medicine, our way of surviving against diseases were not so much different than any other animal, we had smarter precautions and primitive cures yes, but basically folks used to breed as much as possible and most of the time half, sometimes even more of their offspring died at young age. So people had 8, 10 kids but say 5 or 6 of them never saw the age of 10. The survivors however probably had a much stronger immune system because it was not civilization that kept them alive but natural selection. Today we survive in higher rates, yet in case of a catastrophic event in which access to medicine is gone or useless, a lot of those survivors will die since their immune system is not strong enough. That is not a minus though, it is the elimination of an already granted plus. There are 7 billion of us!

Just caught an article on the web about a link between resistant strains and the meat industry:
USDA apathy
Ty pharmaceutical lobbyists. Ty farming lobbyists. Cool stories bros. It's too bad they didn't succeed in reigning in the problem back in 1982. Now we all gonna die.
I really gotta get off my ass and renew my hunter's license.

Quote: I've been given to understand that the body is physically capable of dealing with every kind of outsider, but its targeting system is ****. Any truth to this?
Yes. Just check "auto immune diseases", its when your own Leukocytes try to murder you...

And using antibiotics is like throwing thermo nukes at your body.
But sometimes, thermo-nukes are the only thing that can cure you from things like Tuberculosis or Salmonella.
Really, only use them when your doctor says you need them and dont take them casually. Use them with care and after 1:30 hours after you ate something.

i just think it's a little ominous. they know pretty much nothing about the virus, 50 people have come into contact, and they're letting the guy who tested positive go. all you need to spread this virus all over the u.s. is a trip to the airport.
can't someone be a carrier, without showing signs of a virus? like hiv or aids, perhaps? not showing any signs, and them blam? that's my understanding of certain viral traits, at least.
it just seems that they're playing with fire with this, by being so careless with something that supposedly has no known cure, and a high fatality rate...
and, something they don't understand the nature of, yet.

an interesting mers update.
apparently, they're trying to retract their statements. what i want to know is, how could anyone possibly mistake a certain virus for another one, or something else? wouldn't they have to have microscopic proof that the disease exists, in order to claim someone is infected with it?
this news, by far, bodes more ill than the previous links i posted on it. i don't see doctors mistaking someone being infected with something this serious. that's kind of like saying, "we only THOUGHT he had AIDS."
