MMH7: A new world that both resemble Erathia and Ashan.
How about a new game entirely based on intelligent bi-pedal creatures and, that the base creature is always the kingdom's common citizen(colonist)?
From there, only three types of military types can be built and, later on upgraded 2 times over up to Castle level is reached, then one or two more can be built at great resources costs. Now, we have reached the total of 5 units that can be hired every week.(Zealot and Paladin for example).
Added to this new game is: outside hidden special creatures' dwelling that comes only available to its initial imperial faction of that specific territory once the Level of the City has reached a minimum of level 20 + Castle as the highest military establishment of each faction. As an example: The Griffin nest for the Human faction. And, this dwelling can be, at great resource cost, be upgraded 2 times over with no option of skipping one upgrade for the better one(no alternative upgrades, only gradual upgrading possible). Plus, once the second upgrade is reached, the initial base unit is no longer available for hiring.(That would be the equivalent of the level 6 unit).
What really makes this game innovative within the whole M&M Heroes series is: The level 7 creature is only available once per month. And, the requirement is: Having flagged + owning 1 to 2 level 6 dwellings and having them upgraded to the first upgrade minimum. Now, the Archangel's heavenly gates will appear above the human town. No upgrades available since, it will come, automatically, fully upgraded already. One will remain in the capital city at all times and the rest can go with the expeditionary hero(when two or more months have past and a hero is available for doing so).
Bonus to this game is: The citizens can be sent to the adjacent territories or reacheable territories via dimensional gates or underground staircases for rather colonizing the non-settled territories or, to open the opportunity to make work at transforming the captured town to your own faction's type. Probable possibility of letting them do the land changes as they get to see fit after the town conversion is completed.
So, what do you think of that new game design, people? Looks really different in possibilities of gameplay, right?.
Note: The R.M.G. will be considered mandatory for the first expansion and, many refinements done to it for the second expansion.

The Vanilla version will make its debut with the 6 original factions.
Haven, Inferno, Sylvan Elves, Dark Elves, Silver Cities of the Wizards and, the Necromancers(version 1.0).
In its last campaign, rumors of an ancient war between the reptillian races of the Marshes and Swamps of Ashan that would involve the mythical creatures of Nagi versus a very old evil race of imperial mutant like allied creatures of the Fortress that dwells in jungle watery desolation of the abandoned and forgotten areas of the world.
In the first expansion, the Dark Elves are literally defeated by the forces of the light, nature and, magic. Revealing the Nagi Sanctuary faction against that Fortress faction that has harbored the animal like creatures of the Dark Elves demise into their ranks. Now, 7 factions remain to play throughout pre-made maps or, through a new R.M.G. feature to the package(version 2.0)
In the second expansion, both new factions of the first expansion, has mutually exterminated themselves out with the other ancient races helping out at doing just that. Now, the story of the Wizards creating the Orcs for their scientific curiosity leads to their loss at controlling them. Then, the Orcs run away to a far away set of lands in the far East of Ashan. Now, creating the mutual gathering of the mutants as their new Fortress like faction.
Part of the second expansion is, one or two campaigns(maybe even more) that elaborate the end of the Demon Sovereign and, the final destruction of the inferno faction. Then, within the last campaign, an expedition of mountain climbers far north in the mountain ranges of Ashan, report the discovery of many large holes in the sides of the mountains in the very center of the Alps. They have even seen old mage like dwarves with bear riding mace holding dwarves. The Dwarven renegade underground faction is now part of Ashan's dominant ancient races. Moreover, a group of Wizards experimenting on controlling the weather and its many elemental properties throughout the plains of existence of Ashan, accidentally triggered the gathering of all these elemental fluxes into one of the valleys in between the mountain ranges of Northern Ashan. The Elemental spirits and entities were not amused and, decided to form their own tribe of allied elemental fluxes. The Elemental faction is now part of the dominant factions of Ashan. By version 3.0 of Might and Magic Heroes 7, there are a full array of 8 factions to choose from.
Haven, New whole Elves, Wizards, Necromancers, Orcs, Dwarves, Allied Elemental Fluxes and, a totally new one, straight out of MMH3, The Non-Elvish and Human-like Warlocks. Due to the imminent return of the almighty dragons that have created a rising in the beliefs of Sorcery of the human heretic type. Could have happened when the Demons were totally eradicated from the plane of the physical living and, will be part of the campaign elaborating the causes that brought some of the Haven duchies to become literally possessed by evil magic upbringing(humans with incredible spellpower abilities at very young age).
That should be the whole, complete proposal for this totally new Might and Magic Heroes game.

I don't think it's good design to include features that will occasionally be seen in a campaign but would realistically never show up in normal competitive gameplay.

This is the only doable of a game so far.
I still stand on that proposition of mine for a future MMH7.
A game that is being developed like a story, is way more attractive to all strategy gamers that happens to be lovers of its ancestral parent of Might and Magic itself. Sometime, a fake sense of RPG in the realm of strategy gaming is, quite, very enticing, indeed.
Once everybody has played M&M X to death and back. They will welcome the return of a mind relaxing strategy game that, does not give migraines to many children old enough to sit tight in front of a PC's screen, keyboard and mouse and, teenagers alike.
Leaving the main story telling and procedural courses of gameplay to campaigns only is the whole point of these combo games such as MMHeroes Editions. Once all campaigns are done, let the world conquest begin and, prove that your strategy prowess is not limited to one single faction of the entire game's content of possible factions.
Anyway, I rest my case(wait a second, where the heck did I put that case).

This whole part of gameplay ideas i do not like at all, the other parts are okay, expet for one thing, the last expansion should bring up the game to the total of 9 factions.

add to that, the entire idea of having only BIpedal creatures is the worst I have ever seen for a HoMM game.

6 creatures total + 1 champion for the Capital.
In RMG games, an army of only 6 creatures will be possible. As the level 6 creature will act as a semi champion unit.
Obviously, there are only 4 legged semi-intelligent creatures, as mammals that will be allowed to exist in this game as for upper level units. The humanoids will be 2 legged and in great quantity as for levels 1 to 4.
This time around, the large creatures will no longer be available as standard, affordable creatures and, will be at level 5 or 6. To make the game more interesting and less repetitive, the hero will have the opportunity to upgrade his/her mount by one of these large creatures(stronger mounts will mean an ability to make a hero charge attack way fiercer). The upgrade will mean a greater distance of travel on the adventure map if, there is no slow walker units in the army. Plus, if the hero chooses a level 6 mount, the chances that this mount will have the flying ability(Royal Griffin for example).
The Dwarves and Wizards will no longer have the Mammoth and Elephant respectively as their starting mounts on MMH7. So, putting the Mammoth and the Elephant as a level 5 large walking/running/charging type of a unit becomes really obvious, ain't it? Just gave you a really big hint, here.
Furthermore, bringing back the option of being able to fly over rivers and narrow bodies of water + chains of mountains will be re-established. Some of the heroes of each factions will have the non-riding ones also(just like MMH5 had them). These walking and slow running heroes will have the option of learning the explicit skill of expert pathfinding to allow the creation of entirely small creatures like armies(level 1 to 3) that can move in a single file and pass in relatively narrow but, passable areas. The sneak towards a planned to attack dwelling or town will also be a tertiary skill within the expert pathfinding secondary skill. Implementing the 'Surround your enemy' type of a possible battlefield type is, now, a 21st century reality as the Total War franchise as demonstrated us for the past decade and a half, already.
Enough revealed. Do you begin to realize the potential possible at the evolution of strategy gaming within the Might and Magic Heroes Series? I surely do hope that you do.
Happy Dreaming everybody!

Me? Doing this game? Myself? Nope.
Just to remind everyone that, this topic thread was meant as a proposal of my idea of a new title within the Might and Magic Heroes Series as for the 7th instalment.
A real developer/programmer will have to be found and contracted in order to be given a time frame to produce such game.
The units' arts and graphical details will be done by that specific developer/programmer.
There is one thing for sure. If the game is being considered to be done, it will have to be a title made for the newest Direct X graphical engine(11 and 12). Plus, will have to be done to satisfy the need for high end Tablets' interface. Windows 8.1(6.3.9200) and other very advanced Operating Systems will have to be highly considered for this latest instalment.
No word nor a hint to it has been revealed, yet. Kept as a secret? Would not surprise me, one bit. The Vanilla/1.0 does not have a true name for it, either.
Do not despair people. It will resurface somewhere. Ubisoft? Blizzard? Only time can tell of which publisher will actually inherit the privilege and prestige of such champion of medieval era strategy role play gaming.

How about Nicolai, son of Queen Catherine...
being ressucitated from his undead body, rejoins Isabel and, with his most loyal elder companion of Godric embarking into a journey to find the scroll of inter cosmic travel and, the (unknown of a name, yet)most powerful Arch-Mage that can pin-point the exact star where the world of Enroth should be.
Once done and, accomplished, they find themselves in the middle of the main continent of Enroth + when Queen Catherine is not, yet crowned.
Imagine the Queen seeing her son all grown up and, with wife of a powerful Haven Duchy.
The first campaign is centered at finding the scroll and, then, that Arch-Mage. Having to fight off all kinds of neutral and enemy faction's heroes with formidable armies at their command.
Second campaign is centered on travelling to Enroth and, fighting your way through uncounted amounts of neutral and non Human faction enemy armies in order to find your way to the nearest Human town(Castle)where you can have plenty of info. on that royal princess.
The third and fourth campaigns are subject to debate as to what could happen if something happens to Catherine Ironfist. Making sure that she becomes Queen at all costs could be the third campaign. Preventing Enroth's destruction for the fourth campaign, maybe.
So, how's that for a possible story to Might and Magic Heroes 7?
How about this name for it: Return to the royal family's cradle. Sounds?
