Guns of Icarus
This game is every man's romance come true:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/musegames/guns-of-icarus-onlineadventure-mode
Team-based steampunk airship battles being taken to a new level - as of now there is a skirmish mode of up to 4vs4 ships (32 players) with pretty much flawless game mechanics and no 'beta' feeling to it (like Air Buccaneers did).
It could very well stop here but the creators have so much ambition for developing this game I could hardly believe reading it.
They gathered enough money to start building the Adventure mode which will put the already impressive Skirmish mode to shame.
-16 player Co-op campaigns
-Boss airships
-8 Factions
-Open World
...
wait let me say that again
-OPEN WORLD STEAMPUNK AIRSHIP MULTIPLAYER
I'm sorry for sounding like an overhyped 12yo but I just can't stop myself.
Adrius, you with me on this?

Oh **** yeah that looks so damn cool.
I don't know enough crazy people in RL that want to spend money on this kinda awesomeness but if we can get some kinda HC crew going then **** YEAH AM I ON THAT ****.
How much do I need to pledge to get the actual game when it's released?

Oh but they need 250.000 more to get on with the first stage of adventure mode?
Sounds like kind of a stretch to me.
EDIT:
Oh it's the second stage, nevermind then. Hope they succeed, not a fan of betting money though.

That's a huge thing to implement though and honestly - I think they're going to get it
and on the off-chance that they don't you will get a season pass for every content they release after the kickstarter gig has ended

1/500 of the limited 20 bucks pledge left haha, a bit tempting to get that one.
This is definitely awesome but not something I'd play alone, maybe if I can get something going with my pals I might buy it but I doubt it. The people I know only like to play LoL and CS

you need to go out of your cage then
edit: by the way, the skirmish mode is completed so if you don't want to bet cash on something not yet there you can try that one out. Standard stuff, deathmatch, capture the point, king of the hill.
You shouldn't just pass on awesome stuff just because your current buddies don't play it

Storytelling mode!
Foreshadowing:
We're figthing a 2vs2 deathmatch over a desert, our allies pack a Goldfish (good frontal assaults and ok durability) equipped with a long range missile battery (think katiusha) while we were aboard a Squid (fastest, lowest health with mediocre weaponry) loaded with a flamer and a carronade (think shotgun)
The enemy was a Galleon (devastating broadsides, highest durability) fully stocked on missle batteries and the last one was the Spire (heavily armed front, high manuverability but lowdurability) equipped with all sorts of long and medium range weaponry
Our tactic was to quickly get close and above, blast their balloons with the carronade and sit on top of them setting them on fire until they merrily crashed into the ground.
The game:
The first match was just as described, they weren't prepared for that disabling tactic and the game was settled quickly.
Second game - while not providing direct counter measures in terms of weapon loadouts and crew equipment they did start cooperating.
While we were constantly pushing down the Galleon into the warm desert sands the Spire sat far and high and kept peeling us off him and even killing once with the mercury gun (sniper).
So now we went for a quick drive-by on the Galleon to soften it up for our Goldfish and went just above ground level to avoid fire only to suddenly pop up above the Spire with a Hydrogen boost and choke it to the ground. Rince and repeat, second game won although not flawless anymore
Third game
Here we decided to switch to a Goldfish packing a Twin Carronade up front and go for the same tactic as before, trading a bit of speed for power.
This time we didn't bother with the Galleon (as it turned out, big mistake, since now it was fully operational and our ally was still opting for approaching it from the broadside) we went straight for the Spire.
Hell started.
Without the manuverability of the Squid they were constantly popping our balloons making a clean approach nigh impossible. I missed ramming them 3 times just because our balloons were out at the last moment. The score was 4-4 (5 needed to win) and after circling around a dust cloud to catch them off guard I filled the engines with Moonshine for the extra thrust and went for the kill.
But they were ready, they turned around just in time to pop our balloon for the fourth time and the desert was closing in fast. Hitting it for a few times while weathering fire from above we managed to hide in another dust cloud with just a sliver of hull health left. Hull armor is repairable but the hull itself isn't so it would take just about 2 shots from their mercury gun to finish us off.
Now they started firing a flare gun into the dust to light us up but at this point my engineers and gunner have already patched up the ship, we left and circled around the cloud from the opposite side balloons pumped with Hydrogen for the extra lifting power and engines once again full of Moonshine.
They noticed us and started turning around but this time it was just a second too late. The impact almost killed us but it disabled their main batteries as they just achieved a firing arc on us and a salvo from the Twin Carronade was enough to send them flying downward into the dust and sand beneath it. They were still alive but now descending slowly amidst the dust while navigating between huge metal beams from a giant crash site sticking out of the dunes.
And we followed slowly making sure they never again see sunlight.
Now that was the most tense ending I had so far
