Well, it is already 2019 in Australia... So I guess it's alright to post this now (and go join the festivities).
For far too long I have been keeping the new version of my mod private, mostly due to the fact that my personal life caught up with me (and my free time was limited). However, I kept working on it here and there, piece by piece at a time. And I figured I'd share the progress in light of the New Year that's coming (in a few hours at least).
I give you the Glory of War v1.2
Much has been changed from the previous version. The mod has been balanced a lot, new creatures were added, campaigns were edited and new scripts were written. You can browse through the pages of this thread to witness the progress first hand.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I want to thank all of HC users for their support and I wish you all a happy New Year!
This is a huge update but definitely not the last one...
As always... Stay tuned for more!

Congrats, but I am unable to download it, the 60 seconds count down doesn't start. I disabled Adblock, still nothing. I suggest Google drive, is free, fast and allows direct link.

bonus applied by Maurice on 02 Jan 2019. |
|
Features:
-> New creatures
All WoG creatures have been replaced with either better versions or new concepts altogether.
-> New Conflux lineup
The Conflux town has been replaced with Haven, a Nature themed town, with new heroes and new creature lineups. However, players can still play with the original Conflux town (with a few balanced alterations) as well (if the appropriate WoG option is set).
-> New campaigns and tutorial
A New campaign has been added. The original Heroes III and Heroes Chronicles campaigns were remastered and part of this mod. Be sure to download the Heroes III original campaign videos mod (found in the download section) to fully relive the campaigns (Chronicles videos are included). Furthermore, a new tutorial is added, where all the new features of this mod are thoroughly presented.
-> New heroes and new hero specialities
There are more than 40 new hero portraits (that are used in the campaigns as well) and a few new hero specialities introduced in this mod, like Leadership, Luck, Scouting, new spells and much more.
-> New map objects and dwellings
All original WoG objects that can be found in a random map have been remastered and (in some cases repurposed). The random maps that are heavy with WoG objects are now easier in the eye since all of these objects are more in tune with the original ones.
-> New artifacts
Most WoG artifacts have been replaced with new concept art and abilities. More than ten new combination artifacts are introduced with exciting new abilities.
-> New WoG Options
The only WoG option that is obligatory for this mod to work is The Glory of War WoG option. There are no other obligatory WoG options. However, some of the original WoG options were tweaked (such as the Enhanced Combination Artifacts) and others are brand New (like the Mighty Conflux Option).
-> Miscellaneous Changes
Some town dwellings sell additional creatures, while others offer a third upgrade. The Den of Thieves in Dungeon offers free Rogues every week. The Caravansary in Stronghold offers 100 gold per day (bonus is greater when you have more Strongholds). Some creatures are interchangeable depending on your strategy (they can be upgraded and downgraded at will). Some creatures and heroes have been rebalanced. New Battlefields are introduced. And so much more!

You forgot to mention the coolest thing in your mod! The ninth Heroes Chronicle campaign!
btw. Of course I'll check myself in free time, but old saves are compatible with new version?

I did mention it, I just didn't add pictures for it (now I did).
Campaign Saves that were done at the end of a scenario should work, since when you play the new scenario the map might be different but your heroes wouldn't be. I found that saves don't work on newer versions of ERA though. When I upgraded to the newest ERA, I tried to Load my old campaigns and it didn't work, I had to downgrade to the previous state.
Other than that, I don't think you will have any problems.

Finished Tutorial + 2 chapters of Heroes Chronicles(Warlods of Wasteland and Glory of War)
Glory of War - Last scenario
Red should have Town Portal disabled in his castles. Orrin took Rion Gryphonheart Angelic Aliance and Town Troops.
Rion should stay in his castle(stand still) then roaming around and collect troops from Dwellings.
Christian with Town Portal took position as Final Castle Defender. Rion Gryphonheart was left with only Pikemen and Archers.

@zmudziak22
WOW, you've been busy
You're right, it is often seen on maps where you need to kill a certain hero that AI leaves that hero with zero troops. I think the process of eliminating all opposing heroes till you get to Rion was the fun and not the final battle itself. After all, you do start with the Cloak of the Undead so how much of a challenge should that be?
Don't forget that Heroes Chronicles campaigns were meant to be easy campaigns that introduced new players to the game. The Glory of War campaign was made entirely by me (all new scenarios) but I did keep that vibe in mind. I think the captivating thing about these campaigns is the great story and the scenery (it has some of the most beautifully drawn maps).
If you want a challenge, you might want to revisit the original Heroes III campaigns, which I remastered and allowed AI difficulty to be optional on the RoE and AB campaigns. Trust me, the campaigns that were meant to be played in easy difficulty are quite challenging (or at the very least fun).
But in the end, I want to thank you for your suggestion and I will fix it on future releases. If you (or anyone else) encounter other such campaign nuisances feel free to post them here, I will take them into consideration.
@NimoStar
There are installation instructions on the front page of this thread. This mod needs ERA II to work. WoG needs to be on the lowest priority (in mod manager) and my mod on the top.

I completed all maps on 200%.
Final scenario of Glory of War was challenging. But once you harvest enough Liches + Get some Angels + Armor of the Damned map is not bad.
And btw. I used wog no secondary skills limit so Tarnum learn Offense + Archery + Armorer + Tactics + Wisdom + Earth + Logistics + Pathfing + other things to help him during adventure. Hardest scenario was mission 2 where we play Tarnum Death Knight.
I am not expert of Heroes 3 but both campaigns i finished with Archangel Rating.

Yeah, playing with unlimited secondary skills is fun but ultimately overpowered in campaigns. I tried it in the past, but have it disabled now.
I am glad you liked my campaign, good luck with the rest!

I know is overpowered, but restarting map to get earth magic or Wisdom for Might Hero was bit frustating. I play SOD and HotA with default 8 skills.

I am playing my mod both in an older version of ERA II (I think it's 2,56 or something like that) in my computer and in the latest version (2,7) with HD mod in my laptop.
What problem do you have exactly? I uploaded a new version in this Alternative Link.
Try it out maybe it will work better.

Hello and thank you for your amazing devotion for a long dead game (from the producers point of view)!
I have three questions, but the most important for me is the first one:
1. By any chance, would be possible to play the "Heroes Chronicles" from your expansion, without ANY game change excepting the HD image and your new, original campaign (I know we can play HD "Heroes Chronicles" in Heroes III, but without seeing the original short movies and without your new campaign)? If not, could you please make it available in a future version?
2. Would be possible a Heroes I and Heroes II campaigns conversion to Heroes III engine and graphics (of course as part of your expansion, but without any Heroes III game alteration excepting the HD image)?
3. Would be possible a Heroes IV Tarnum story conversion to Heroes III engine (as part of your expansion, but without any Heroes III game change) to give a closure to his "Odyssey"? (I didn't play Heroes IV, but I heard Tarnum appears in more than one scenario there).
Thank you in advance!

Hello, thank you for your kind words, but you could reply without quoting all that imagery. Please edit your reply and remove the quote.
The Heroes Chronicles campaigns were edited to comply with my mod. If you want to play them without any changes, I don't know where to get them, you have to search for yourself. There is a Russian version HERE but I don't remember where I got the English ones sorry. You could always play the original chronicles.
As for the rest, no I don't plan on converting any other campaigns for my mod. I already heavily edited the original Heroes III and Chronicles campaigns to fit in my mod (all the while keeping the original experience as much as possible). Transforming campaigns from Heroes II and IV is way different since you have to start from scratch and recreate them (instead of editing them).
So the answer is no on all accounts, sorry.

Ok, I edited my previous post...
But you gave me such sad news... I thought your mod can add its features one by one from a configurable menu, so it could be played also without changes.
Thank you for your HC link, but I already have the original "Heroes Chronicles", as well as the "pack" to "integrate" it in Heroes III SOD as a mod (to be able to play it in HD).
My request for you was only to be able to play in HD without loosing the beginning and ending movies + the animation between the different scenarios from the campaign. And of course I wanted so much to see your original Tarnum campaign, but in the "classical" H3 environment.
P.S. I saw your mod HC menu and I know there are only few people who really tried to find the right chronology, most of the internet posts are just copy-pasting 1-2 guys opinions. So - at least until now - I seem to be the only one to "discover" (seeing in the game the very clear indications) how "Masters of the Elements" is AFTER "The World Tree" and "The Fiery Moon" (TWT is ep.4, TFM is ep.5 and MOTE is ep.6, if we count your campaign as 1.5 ).
All the best from me and all my respect for your hard work!
