Heroes 3 creature specialists

Hi there

Finally, I copied the results of my creature specialist tests to online google docs.
Currently it ends on level 42, maybe in future I'll test more levels (up to 76).

Sooo... cheers, here's the link:

I'm impressed how much some level1 specialists get, for example Skeleton specialist gains up to +13/+13 ! Imps get +9/+9, Trogs +11/+10, Goblins +11/+7, gnolls +9/+13.

Orcs get +10/+5, which is very good for a level3 unit and a shooter.

...if calculations are correct.

These are no calculations. This is data taken directly from gameplay.

So I am assuming that when the game says something along the lines of "Receives a per-level bonus to {creature type} after {level}." in the specialty section, that that is only half true; it looks like some levels don't yield any bonus for them??

If so than all of these heroes seem to have weaker specials than heroes like, say, Tazar or Craghack, who receive their bonus every single level, or so I think....

Thoughts?

I guess that was kinda poorly worded.
And I still absolutely CANNOT comprehend the lack of Conflux lvl. 1 and 2 specialists. (and the rest getting two specialists per creature, which is POINTLESS). While most towns don't have a lvl. 1 or 7 (barring campaign-only heroes) specialists, Conflux misses out on three creature specializations, and I don't see a single reason why there's no Air Elemental specialist. (unless Air Elementals aren't level 2, as some people say...)

I know that Conflux was rushed, but to that extent?

First level units with better expand capabilities usually don't belong to any particular hero. Storm elementals, despite being level 2, is much better than other level 2's. Heck I'll say they're the best elemental of the conflux, due to speed high maximum damage and being a shooter. They certainly don't need a boost. The +5 damage to Magma Elementals, which is a huge boost, yet doesn't make them able to stand up against other level 5's, only goes to show that the developers knew the elementals were unbalanced for their respective tier, except for Ice Elemental, which is a good level 3, but not an obvious best.

In any case, I think Galthran is OP.

Which is funny since most people (ie. myself) usually consider Vidomina or Isra as the already-broken Necropolis' broken heroes.

Galthran + Vidomina = nasty stuff, but lots of leveling would be needed for that to actually happen, since it isn't particularly easy to reach level 41.
(on the other hand, Isra/Vidomina need to reach only a "few" levels due to expert Necromancy which pretty much comes at the first level-up, Necromancy Amplifiers etc.)

But I think necromancy is capped at 100% which isn't difficult to reach anyway, especially if amplifiers are allowed.

Whereas Galthran at level 24, very doable to reach, already has an extra +8/8, very powerful.

I wonder...
The Cloak of the Undead King has +30% Necromancy while the artifacts that make it also have that much in total.
Do they actually stack like other combination artifacts' effects?

Yes, you get +60%. Expert Necro it's at 90%, one amplifier and it's 100%.

Look,if you get 60%,it would be 60% no matter WoG or SoD.
I use it in one game and it gives 30% as in the description.

Many thanks for your effort!
I wasn't aware that there was a difference between plain/upgraded creatures. So now it's more vital that Yog upgrade his Cyclopes

Interestingly enough, this difference seems to be eliminated in HotA.
Apparently I didn't read their changelog carefully enough.

Don't forget that creature specialists increase unit speed as well ! (+1)

Dendroid specialist can speed them up until they're no slower than Dwarves(5). Alternatively, you leave Dendroids behind and take Dwarf specialist and your whole army moves at 6.
Dungeon can benefit from Troglodyte specialist. The slowest unit will move as fast as Medusae, whom probably no one wants to leave behind.
With Zombies left behind, Skeleton specialist makes the whole army move at 6.

I was going to say "Take Scorpicore or Wyvern specialist against Tower, because then you get to move 2 units before Tower reacts", but then I noticed these heroes come with Scouting and Scholar. Ewwww... ! But I still think it could be good in Dungeon vs Tower:
1. Dragons attack Titans
2. Scorpicores attack Titans, a chance of Paralysis but no retaliation.
3. Titans move, if able.

Wait a second, is Paralysis a mind spell ? If so, then we have an answer to "What's the difference between Paralysis and Stoning".

Not saying it trumps Crag Hack or Tazaar...

Isn't there an increase of defense skill (respectively a decrease of recieved damage) when being stoned? That's one big difference to paralysis if I remeber correct..

i guess:
Retaliation after basilisk's stoning = 100%
Retaliation after scorpicore's paralyzing = 25%
