It h as been awhile since I read the latest manga release. Casca could no longer be locked in full retard mode anymore for all I know. She's the last link to Gatts' former life. Poor guy.

Maybe the manga will end up turning into the Odyssey, where Odysseus is like "Sweeeeeet. The war is over. Time to sail home and screw my wife", and then 10 years later and he's still on a boat like "Fuuuuuuuuu". Granted the majority of the time he spent sleeping around with demigoddesses, but still.
I think the author might be going through an emotional breakdown, because I really don't think the whole bearded skeleton pirates thing was that funny, but he seemed to think it was

i am googling, and looking in ebay. I dont understand if the egg of the king is new content.
Can someone spell it out for me? I have the 1-25 episodes and am seeing something about 'new project confirmed' as of like 2010

You know, I bet that wolf they show whenever Gatts is struggling with his inner demons is actually a rendition of what his form would be if he were to become an apostle.
Whenever apostles transform into their demonic form, it is always a gigantic, powerful, more hideous version of their normal self. Maybe at some point Gatts is going to give in and trade his humanity to become an apostle but then continue to fight against Griffith? It doesn't sound very Gatts-like, but he is gradually losing his humanity a piece at a time. He lost his eye and arm and replaced it with a cannon. Now he's wearing the berserker armor, which in itself takes away his humanity and inhibitions whenever he uses it, and it's suppose to slowly consume you over time. Gatts is showing less and less desire to let anything get in the way of his revenge.

I assume that him turning into an apostle is the loss condition, though. He who fights monsters and all that. It maybe could continue from there, but it'd basically be a story that's over. Berserk goes through ridiculous lengths to still convincz us Gutts is a human who had all the perfect conditions to become this amazingly powerful warrior (who is crazy.)
