Beyond the Limits!

Hey folks, my question basically regards Heroes 3 SoD, but since what I'm striving for is done using the WoG editor, I'll post it here.

Today I noticed that it was possible to increase the maximum number of, say, Mystical Gardens using the WoG editor. It is done by changing it's type to something else (e.g. tree), then changing it back through the advanced options. However, for some reason, buildings like towns, heroes and even quest guards (which are not limited to my knowledge?) are separated from the big "main group" of types, which basically means that one can't change their type in order to reverse it later on. What I wanted to ask, is, if someone, who is in knowledge of the WoG editor, is able to remove these boundaries. Of course, I don't know if the game is even able to handle more than 48 towns at once or more then 64 heroes on the field, but it would be a great relief to all mapmakers who like to place...more (and yes, I know you Era maniacs are able to do everything, don't even tell me)

Using erm, the short answer is no. Hex editing, I guess everything is possible after seeing HoTA's 10th town, but could take a while and does not require wog anyway.

Even if you cheat with editor and create more gardens (your example), the extra ones will only be clones of an existing one. Once you visit one, a second garden as well will show "visited", not having a distinct memory allocation data.

If you cheat with the editor, everything works fine. Check this out:

Mystical Garden Test.h3m

I set 35 Mystical Gardens and they are all working (use cheats to reach them), so I guess aditional towns/heroes could be working as well (I'm not as sure regarding the heroes, since the computer is having troubles with 8 already)...I'll try further and inform you if I find something out.

Interesting, 35 gardens working. As for towns, XXL patch creates random mas with 60+ towns, but visiting the extra towns crashes the game, always. So the template must be adjusted.
