And add that Portugal were so confident that they'd win, so it just sruck them in their heads.

for the english league I am for Chelsea. They are really the best. I don't like Manchester Unt.
For Euro 2004, since my home country din't make it, I am for Germany.

France - England 2:1 !
Oh my, that was deffinitely the most boring and the most interesting match at the same time I've ever seen.
England played wise and tactically. They should've won imo. But Zidane messed things, and Beckham kicked that ball like a little girl. Too bad for all the English that were on the spot. And the French just couldn't believe they won.
Nice game.

Quote: England played wise and tactically
I didnt watch mcuh of the game. There was another game on TV at the same time: Palmeiras x Vasco, Brazilian Championship. But what I watch was a French team trying to win the game and an English team just waiting and going for the counter-attacks.
England played as a small team. It looked something like France x Japan(put here any weak national team with White T-Shirts). England had 8 players in front of the area, in 2 lines of 4. The number 9 guy(dont remember his name now) was in the intermediary(not sure if you use this term) and Owen in the mid-field. Thats not the posture of a team who wants to win.

Yeah, I know that kind of strategy doesn't correspond much to the way Brazilians want to play it.
But, if you had watched the game, you would've seen an amazing defense by the English. The French practically didn't have one single chance during the entire game. And it's true that the English relied only on contras, and that was the tactics I was talking about.
However, two lucky shots in the end by Zizu and all that carefully built advantage was lost.

I think a draw would have been a just result in England - France.
Tactically, England went for a draw, no doubt about that. They were lucky to score then and defended their lead almost perfectly until the last 5 minutes. They wouldn't have deserved a win because they hadn't really any other good chances at goal besides Lampard header which went in. But they would have deserved a draw because that's what they aimed at and they played well accordingly.
France went for a win, constantly putting pressure on their opponents but they were impotent in front of goal. Luck shifted sides in the last minutes and they scored twice although they didn't deserve to, seeing that they hadn't many clear chances at goal either. But they wouldn't have deserved to win either since they were the positive team in this game.
I got the other result right though

I'd say either France or Germany will win Euro2004. England is OK, loss to France was probably Gerard's fault.

Fance Vs England was a pretty good match, Beckham missed a penalty!! I thought France would come out firing in the opening round and kill England... Guess i was wrong. The english keeper couldn't have done much else at the end, he had to attack the ball, or it would have been an easy shot.
The one to watch: Italy.
I believe they have what it takes to beat the favs France. Have a pretty strong line up too.
B.T.W Do any of yous play that fantasy football EURO thing???

Talking to yourself again, Doomnezeu?
Anyway, I can't say that I see any team as definite favourite. I would be tempted to go for Spain because of their offensive potential, but they always tend to counterbalance that ... and not to their benefit

I dun think Germany will win. Of course i want England to win and i think we deserved to last nite cos France literally sucked IMO. U can all say David Beckhams penalty was rubbish but Zidan's was basically in the same place..there wasn't much difference. If England don't win then France will.

You should watch the replays more carefully, wizard daughter. Beckham's penalty was poorly placed while Zidane's was quite well taken. Add the fact that Barthez had absolutely no doubt as to which direction Beckham's shot would go and you have yourself a winner and a loser

Very impressive although bulgaria had their chances on 1-0, sweden outclassed them in the second half... although they show weakness in the defense, I think they might reach far Even though I'm norwegian, I'll have to say the swedes impressed me! nuff said
