From a player's perspective I have very little complaints about ERA, it just works, so your comment comes as quite the surprise here.

I haven't actually played Era II, so I could be wrong about this, but the biggest difference between it and VCMI as I understand it is that mods in ERA II replace the existing towns, whereas with VCMI the town mods add to the existing ones. Thus in VCMI I currently have the option of 19 different towns to chose from. When I make a random map, even if I play an 8 player game, random towns can chose some of the towns I didn't make players. SO potentially I have access to more than just eight armies. Plus VCMI was easier for me to download and install, being a neophyte to the whole mods scene. Not that I have anything against anyone preferring ERA II.....to each their own!

Era is not harder to install than VCMI... 
They both have pros and cons, VCMI has more towns but Era pushed and went beyond the limits of h3 single-player experience, also the map editor benefits Fred's patch adding thousands of objects and textures.
Personally I have Hota, Era and VCMI, and depending on my mood...

Were you able to download them all to heroes 3 main? I don't want to necessarily have 3 copies of heroes 3, but I wouldn't mind having ERA II as well.

Having multiple copies of H3 is the best way to joy various Heroes3 platforms. Shadow of Death takes only 400 MB of our hard drives. Our HD disc are about 1 TB. So....

Yes you need one folder per platform, but yeah it's a game from the 90's, doesn't eat up gigs and gigs of disk space.

Castle, Tower, Rampart
Three Evil towns
Inferno, Dungeon, Necropolis
Two Neutral towns
Fortress, Stronghold
The two towns added in I think fit Neutral best
Conflux (Could lean towards good), Cove

At first i want to thank you for your effort. It's good to see that groups of people still develop this game. I see huge improvment in your skills. Latest models you have shared looked gorgeous.
I play this game for over 12 years and I have to admit I do not use ERA or VCMI almost at all. I see it might be interesting someday but for now it is buggy, AI sucks and luck of important things / to many weird ones.
In my opinion you should try to cooperate with HotA crew. Their mod is the most popular and guarantee good quality. With your skills I guess they would use some of your work. In that way much more people would be familiar to your accomplishments.
