End of online support on Heroes VI
Annonced on the official page:
Quote: Hello Heroes,
5 years passed since the beginning of Might & Magic Heroes 6 game development in 2008.
5 years of countless hours of hard work to develop, then to release the Closed Beta, to launch the game, two Adventure packs “Pirates of the Savage Sea” and “Danse Macabre”, the Standalone Expansion “Shades of Darkness”. We worked a lot to improve your game experience with 14 patches over almost two years since the original game release in October 2011.
All of this would not be possible without your passion for Might & Magic and your support. Thank you for your investment, for your time spent helping us to move in the right direction and helping each other to fight strong bosses and bugs.
Today we bring sad news to the world of Ashan as the team is moving on to other major Might & Magic projects requiring everyone’s full attention. Even if we are turning one more Might & Magic page, we are not saying goodbye. We hope you will keep enjoying Heroes 6 and you’ll remain engaged in the community and then later, when time comes, you will be back and ready to discover new adventures with us.
Until next time,
The Might & Magic team

This makes me sad becouse this was the first heroes game i followed from day one it was firs announced. ah i remember the first trailer with the burning angel crying gold amd the fallen King. at this time nothing was know about that story and this just maked me more and more curious. then we got the first beta gameplay pictures with Svetlana on the horse and the castle converting. then we got a lot of delays of the game. a beta game with many bugs... a full games with many bugs and so on...! i was most sad becouse the past Black Hole Entertamen bancrucy becouse i was thingking this is the end no more expansions, no more patching. Well it was not the end but sure its wasnt the way i was thinking it. Ah anyway i just wanned to say goodbye Heroes 6 developing. it was nice to read all the topings about the game.... what we wanned and what we haved. Lets just hope soon or late to have another Heroes game and more heroes topics!
PS: I wont cry... im a big boy!

I also wonder if those words not only refers to the three known projects.
Personally, I would be really surprised if there was a H7 announcement in the next two years. H6 was supposed to be the "flag" of the M&M brand, but it failed, so I expect Ubi reconsidering their approach...and that'd mean no Heroes any time soon.
We'll see.

I'm not even sure what the "end of the online support" actually means. The last patch was released three month ago and there was only silence since then.
Is the Conflux being shut down or won't the official Heroes VI website just not be updated with trivial (to put it mildly) news anymore?

I doubt they will shutdown the conflux until sales goes below server costs, which should be a while. Probably they just mean no more patches or website posts.

If they shutdown Conflux now they'd be shooting to their feet...not like it has been the first time, but I don't think they are that *stupid*.
So expect no more patches nor website posts as Miru said. Enjoy the game if you can, or move elsewhere.

No real surprise as H6 was on life support and the addon was its last flicker of life.. But damn, that was fast.

It's a pity, with so many bugs still remaining. Oh well ... it was a good and fun game while it lasted, but never lived up to its potential and in the end, will be stuck at a mediocre rating at best.
It's funny, but despite all its shortcomings and flaws, I still think Heroes 3 was the best in the series.

Perhaps selling the game to Ubisoft was a mistake, since good programers never leave bugs behind. But we can't judge 3DO for that because they were going through a rough period...so selling heroes as soon as possible was their priority.
Fortunately Heroes IV,V and a bit of VI have enough material to transform them into a great game...they just need to fall into the right hands.

3DO bankrupted, is not like they could decide
But I also dream of what could have happened IF M&M brand wasn't sold to Ubisoft but other publisher...we'll never know

I'm a little sad. Not because of HoMM6 (I never did like it too much) but because this looks like there will be no new Heroes game in a while. I guess the future of heroes for me is VCMI and Eternal Essence.

Yep, HoMMVI has had a short life.
We move on and learn not to get our hopes up too high in the future. Sadly.

1st of all they already made the mistake of renaming the series. Why do they think they will attract more new players. Most player's buying into it will be fan's of heroes 1-5, not new players who have never heard of the heroes franchise.

Because of the brand & spin-offs (all games starting with the Might & Magic name).
To me is the least of the problems
