The Power of Luna (video)
Here's a video I made for fun. It shows off the self-sufficiency of Luna.

A general question:
Will enemies always split up into smaller armies to defeat your hero, regardless of the map difficulty setting?
Making mincemeat with only a single pixie and firewall spell is brilliant, but that strategy turns to toast the moment the enemy AI decides to smarten up.

Absolutely brilliant, but wouldnt it be safer to take like 3 pixies? if the mage guild did not give magic arrow the master gremlins would kill you, or if the familiars had morale i.e.
I would almost claim luna is OP

Absolutely. If Luna was a starting hero or you were playing Conflux, taking more than just the one has benefits such as being able to attack a straggler instead of having to waste MP on magic arrow.
If you are playing Conflux, you have the benefit of carrying Sprites which speeds Luna up. Plus it helps you deal with faster enemies like Sprites or Obsidian Gargoyles. Or allows you to wait first round, fly, then use Fire Wall to hole up in one of the far corners. This is handy when dealing with slower enemies, plus has the advantage of not having to rely on battlefield obstacles.

The weaker your army is, the more stacks the AI creates.

Just started a new random map. Saw this:
Was about to create a new map when I looked in my tavern and found Luna ready for hire!
Not bad for day 1, one hired hero, 3 spells cast

Lucky you. That's one heck of a hero. She seems pretty cool to use. Sometimes funny and sometimes suspenseful... I expect.
By suspense I mean that the late game can be as complicated to her as to other heroes, but the early game can be pretty smooth and you can help other heroes out by using her to pave the way.

No, not bad at all. In some templates is probably enouch to breack out day 5 or 6 instead of 9 with luck and carefull chainning.
Yet tree Fire Walls equals 18 spell points, so you have only 12 left. Not enouch to repeat the did.
Now, if there is a well nearby...

Nice video.
What mod or setting are you using to see how far an enemy unit can move by rightclicking them?

Props to you, Demarest, for making this vid. Very good idea to make people aware of just how stupid Luna can get.
I've had a few ridic starts with Luna as of late as well. Things along the line of 15k experience and all Air AND Earth spells in a week. One of my fave heroes, for sure.

This is pretty insane -- I tried it myself and massed a hilarious number of resources in 200% difficulty. Kudos.

I tried your Luna tactic, but the snows refused to run into my firewall. Instead they just defended. Did the HotA team make the AI smarter, or did I perhaps do something wrong?

Snows? What do you mean?
In general, 2 hex creatures will sometimes defend instead of attacking, even if they can reach your pixie. I think you need to have firewall right next to pixie dor them to attack. If there is a one hex gap between pixie and firewall, then they do nothing.
