Galaad, it's a common courtesy to inform about change of plans and delays if/when someone promise/d something.
Thanks for all the good work guys!

They did notify of the delay for new year and mentioned January 15th was not formally fixed, 16th already people start to complain and say they "deserve" PR, speak about common courtesy.

I am talking about the posts they've promised - information about new features and changes in 1.5, Galaad. Not about the release date of 1.5.

Actually they said the 14th and (another) delay would of course be acceptable since we don't pay anything, but love and respect for their awesome work. But at least a line or two about why there is a delay and when we then can expect it and maybe a new screenshot or two would be nice.

has it even been 24 hours past the deadline yet? jesus, you guys. give them a break. i'm sure there's a viable reason for any delay. just give them time. it's not like the world will end if they want their product refined enough to put their stamp on it. you guys are starting to look like shoppers on black friday, ffs.

HotA is a very good thing that happened to H3. And we were spoiled with quality patches ever since. So its understandable that people get a little hipped about the release.
And nobody really complains that 1.5 is not here. We are complaining about a missing note. "Hey guys, guess what!? Its not ready and it will take some more time, probably a week or two"
It's the suspense that's killing us

Just be patient. HotA is getting bigger and bigger with every release, the crew though, not so much. Expect some news in the next 24 hours.

ShEv441 said: Also would like to know what is going on. I know that HotA is not commercial projekt so we cannot demand anything. On the other side there is huge group of people who tries to help in development in the way they can - by commenting, discussing, posting new ideas, creating new maps, translating. I think that we deserve to know what is happening. It's ok if something occured but you should inform community about it.
I see posts like these with a lot of games (very) close to release. About why stuff isn't available at the very second it should be. I always consider it like the masses that accumulate before the gates of an amusement park, with people like these being the ones at the very gates themselves, unable to wait one second longer outside the gates than the very announced time.
The irony is that most of those people will have dropped the game they're waiting so hard for within a few weeks or months, moving on to "greener pastures", where they pretty much repeat the same process. Always eager to consume new content, never leasurely taking their time to enjoy it, gluttonous for yet new content.
Another irony is that hardly any game is bug-free, with more annoying and prevalent bugs present right at release. Furthermore, a game will be around for years to come, with more bugs crushed and more polish and balancing as time passes, so what's the hurry?
In this particular case, we're even dealing with a group of people who do this without a commercial interest; no one is spending any money on what these people create for free. Yet, I see terms like "demand" pop up when they miss the mark by even the smallest margin. While it's true that a promise made is one that you should keep, the judgment passed on missing that promise by the time they miss it is too harsh if you ask me.
Be patient, relax. The game will be around for years to come, a day or two extra won't make you lose out (unless you're terminally ill and your life is about to expire ... but how many can claim they are?)

Thank you for this!
I have one question: will the campaigns started with 1.4.2 be affected?

Saved games from 1.4.2 should be compatible, but I can't absolutely guarantee it.

Hello Docent_Picolan.
Dunno if its up to you, but would it be possible for you, or Nik for that matter to post text you published on Acid Cave by member called Uhm ?
There was some info about towns, limits, progress behind new towns and last but not least, some info about Alex-ander being still an active member of HotA.
Dont quote me on this, because I had it translated by "Google translator" from Polish language to English, so it might not be precise translation, but the informations in that post were very interesting indeed.
Thanks in advance.

@Dairy
The text on Acid Cave is clearing up some misconceptions that circulated amongst the community for over a year. The gist of it is:
1) There are no technical obstructions preventing adding new towns to possible future Hota releases. Just that Hota team has no time and manpower to properly discuss a new town and make it. More importantly, there are many issues with higher priorities.
2) Alex-ander's 3D models lost because of the HDD destruction were outdated by that time. It didn't influence the decision not to continue work on Hota team's Forge.
3) Alex-ander still actively works with Hota team and he was an author of the Leprechaun and Fangarm models.

I personally am very happy that the current game and balance are taking precedence.
Heroes III is a great game, despite the huge flaws that it has. Ironing them out will do way more for the game in the long run than more content ever will.

I really don't mind the delay.
More importantly I wonder why the delay was made. Probably technical issues/real life jobs. Other than that, thanks for the message.
