anyways believe me or not, i wasn't trolling, if you don't believe me... that's your own choice, if you believe me, well, thanks is all i can say, so please, please don't take a red start off my profile, i'm just a 'tavern dweller'.

anyway, we need a meeting with 3DO, wog has taken over most of thier land, i suggest a heavy huge mod attack, it will keep them at bay, at least until their next update.

i will, herry. i will take a red star off of your profile, so fast it'll make your head spin. you don't want to cross me.

lol, just kidding. regular members don't have that authority. you need to read, read, read, before you post, man. you have a lot to discover. everything you have mentioned here has already been discussed 1000 times over. none of it is hidden, you just have to find it.

let me fill you in. WoG was the first way for modders to change things about Heroes3. then along came Era and VCMI, which are 2 other platforms for modding. people are still working on reverse-engineering Heroes3; if you aren't a programmer, you're going to have a hell of a time trying to figure that out.

my advice, is just kick back, relax, and do some reading around the WoG subforum. there are stickied posts on the front page, read them, and you will find what you are looking for.

you gotta crawl, before you can run, man.

btw, how old ARE you, exactly?

not NO ONE, the wog team did, and also, if you can get the source code, that would make things easier, also i do read, but AS I SAID FIRST I'M NOT TROLLING, SECOND I DON'T WANT TO MOD WOG! AND THIRD, WHICH I ALMOST FORGOT, STOP USING OFFENSIVE WORDS!

You must be a professional programmer to have the understanding how the programs and, especially, games are created. The WoG team are not the guys from the neighbouring house who wanted to mod the game and simply did it.

We are not professionals mostly, and so are you, so I advise you to give up with this. I don't think you are capable of reverse engineering of the game engine (and pretty sure you don't know how to avoid copyright infringement, because in general reverse engineering is illegal).

Better stick to either Era or VCMI, these platforms for modding are at least supported. If you don't want WoG, just DON'T USE ITS FUNCTIONS. Simply enough.

You can also ask someone to remove the WoG options button from the mod... but I don't know who will do that for you. Everyone's busy on his own projects.

If you get the source code for H3, we will find you, kill you and take the source code for ourselves. Just saying.

It's freaking NOT AVAILABLE. It's COPYRIGHTED.

do you know any of the guys who worked on WoG? do you know where to find them? try to contact them. i think that, with our powers combined, we can be the best thing the modding community has EVER seen.

so, what are your ideas? let's brainstorm, and get this magic 8-ball rolling.

well maybe as a start i should stick to ERA, one question through, how does people create mods on ERA, any guides, programming? well i certainly know it isn't as hard as it sounds, to give birth to a great mod isn't just that you say some magical words, ok good, the mod was created, through i have a tip for the developers of small mods, if you would make small mods, then just assemble them into a large one.
anyways i'm sick of waiting for a solution, give me a link to guide already! and if there isn't any SIMPLY SAY there isn't, through if that is the truth it would be kind of someone to make a guide..

oh and fred, well i would want us to be bodies, anyway since i'm sick of waiting i'm off searching for a guide myself, for the rest of the people who dosen't know how to mod, don't worry, i will inform you(and give you a link) when i find a guide.

and maybe i would be interested in modifying some of the battlefield's backgrounds.

nope, don't you know about the script that changes some of the battlefield's backgrounds? it's made by wog, they must know how it can be done, and someone else must know it too... well i was able to modify the "In WOG We Trust" image that apears when it's the A.I's turn, you just have to extract it, modify it, and put it again inside the file, the problem is i don't know which file contains the monster's(and their animation of course) images. and if you don't know how to extract the images from a file(i think it's at Data if i remeber correctly) ERA has a program for it.

GUYS! GUYS! i think i found something useful(not sure) in the data folder. H3ab_bmp.lod contains a text file called TownType.txt.
it contains:
Castle
Rampart
Tower
Inferno
Necropolis
Dungeon
Stronghold
Fortress
Conflux
i think if you want to add a town without replacing another you add the town type here and... i don't know the rest of the process but hopefully someone smart will find out. I CANT WAIT TO KNOW THE TRUTH!!!!!
