[HotA] Pixel reports and other imperfections.

So, here you can post graphical or some else imperfections in the game, that you think we could improve. These will not get the highest priority, so if the bug is rather serious or annoying, then better to post it into this topic

This thread should be renamed as "hippox89 land"

Good to see some new threads for the bugs reports, now the main thread should be easier to follow

I have already mentioned that the Blind spell causes a creature to freeze in even the most ridiculous pose. However, Blind isn't like the stone gaze which petrifies a being completely, so maybe it would be better if the blinded creature came back to its "default pose" first, and only then stopped moving.

Dragonfly placed on adventure map is noticably larger than every other creature. Maybe it's a good time to resize it a bit?

@down: Well, that's true . Nevermind then.

They'd have to rescale a lot of creatures then.

But I really don't know if it's a good idea or not to rescale them. Maybe somebody from the HotA Crew could comment on this?

Dragon fly is really inadequately huge. Archdevil maybe a little smaller than others as well as Archmage. The rest of them look normal.

I'm not sure. You can view some flaws as an imperfection but also as something characteristic of the game. It's obviously an inconsistency, though. It's also observable that the crew's own creature do not have such scaling inconsistency, so perhaps, but not necessarily, they might care enough to correct the original adventure map creature at some time.

Edit: didn't see Docent_Picolan's reply before posting

The weird part is that many basic creatures look bigger than the upgrade ones - I would expect the opposite (and in M&M games 'upgrades' are bigger too).

But this is the kind of stuff I really don't care and normally I wouldn't care to complain. But hey, if HotA want to fix this, better for the game

Well, no creature is actually bigger than their non-upgrade counterpart in HMM3, other than the extra ornate stuff added, yes? So it'd be strange for there to be any scaling deference on the adventure map, in that sense. I suppose it might be cool if there was a scaling consistency with the creatures on the adventure map and in the battle view.

In combat I think no, so the logic thing is to have them of equal size on the adv. map, yes.

But in the pic above you can see some basic units bigger than the upgrades ones, lol.

In case of the Arch Magi; maybe he has just been getting shorter with old age? It's also normal to lose some weight in old age.

A giant man or a very small horse and his rider?

Edit: Of course scaling cannot be realistic, but it could be consistent, I suppose.

it just looks like they didn't use the same formula when scaling the creatures down. for the archdevil, it's horns make it taller, therefore that one might have actually been scaled correctly. but for the others, it just looks like sloppy work. not that i'm complaining, it doesn't bother me.

the formula to make adventure map defs out of fighting defs is:

1. resize frame to 180hx160v(from 450x400).

2. new frame needed after resizing is 64x64.

(just in case anyone wants to make their own adv map defs)

There's even a mod which introduces more realistic scaling to battlefields. But I don't like this idea.

Yeah, the HotA Crew might consider improving the creatures on the map in terms of consistency.
