it depends, if you don't have the port-cone restricted NAT thing then you should be able to play on game ranger without problems, never tried hamachi before, furthermore, check this thread, it contains information about the topic. people told me to try hamachi but i didn't yet. i hope this helps as much as it could.

Multiplayer problem
My friends Tore Andersson (Oldbird), Jim Singer (Bargainmon) and I (Krill) would like to play a three player game of Heroes3 WOG using 2.46 ERA. Here is what I see happening when we try to start a 3 person WOG game:
1. When a host sets a game and the second player joins the game the third player can’t see the game in Tunngle or Gameranger and in Hamachi or direct TCP/IP once the second player is connected the third player can’t find the address.
2. When the second player leaves the game the third player can then see the game in Tunngle or Gameranger and can join in Hamachi or direct TCP/IP.
3. Once 1 and 2 are done the second player can rejoin the game.
4. When the host starts the game (with all 3 people, host and 2 players) the first player can play his turn and send to the second player but when the second player tries to send to the third player the third player is skipped and the first player gets the data.
Any help you could give is in being able to solve our problem and play a 3 person or more game would be very much appreciated.

here are somethings that would affect it that comes to mind:
Firewall(Most common)
Connection problems
Port Restricted Cone NAT(not sure what it actually is but it prevents a small amount of players from playing with you in peer-peer games, not sure what peer-peer games through.)
