I'll check them one more time later (was this the higher one with a brown cape?).
Now I've got a picture for you - will you guess which map is this?
It's not the final version as objects would be much different in the mod, but what do you think about the current version?
Ah, one more thing - the town belongs to the red player, it's just about third-fourth turn

That looks like a custom made map by a Stronghold faction's fan.
No. I did not recognize that map. Nor, if anyone else can, recognize that map's screenshot.
Has been two weeks since that posted screenshot photo.
Any progress, at all, ever since or, did you abandon the mod so early in the making?

No, I didn't abandon it... so far
The map is based on "The Barbarians' War" map of Archibald campaign.
And for the progress - I have already got Swordsmen and I'm working on Cavalry

Cavalry looks really great.
Sadly I can't say the same for the swordmen, their model ruins the mood

I am going to use this model for Paladin so if you have another propositions... And, what's more, check that in the original H2 the Swordsmen were gigantic strongmen, not noble warriors at all

the idea I had and tried to convey with one of the druids texture was to outline the characters in black and use some filter to give them more of a comics look.

Cavalry and peasant are best models. Sorry but I agree that swordsman's model must be changed, beacuase it looks too hmmmm disproportionate Maybe try use Nicolai model, and for paladin vampire (I like the way he wields sword ) - but make this model a little bit bigger.

I agree swordsmen need to be changed, but I don't think vampire would work for paladins.

well, mine wasn't supposed to be a H2 remake, just similar. but with a helmet I think it could work.

I don't want to use Vampires as Paladins... they would stay vampires at all.
I'm going to create a Paladin with Marksman model and Priest's animset - yes, it works. Maybe few glued parts and it should work.
For the Swordsman - maybe I'll use Marksman's model with his animset...
Heroes' models are mostly bad for creatures as they most often don't have animations like 'death', 'hit' etc.
I have installed Stronghold 2 and I think it would be great to import its' Knecht and Knight models - it could be easy as they are saved as GR2... but like everything easy it's probably impossible to do
I will think one more time about changing Swordsman's model... But it took me so much time and stress to make it...

Hello everyone!
I have got already all Knight creatures... some better, some worse but in each I put much work and engagement. I haven't made new Swordsmen's model yet but if there is any interest, I'll make it.
What am I talking about?
And why do I have no screens for you?
That's because I'm releasing version demo, 0.01a of my mod! Now you can check how my creatures do behave in game and have a look on my works about the hire screen. If there are more than few downloads, I'll sure that I don't make mod for nobody.
I will also make new Swordsmen and release them in 0.01b patch
Here you have the link: TheSuccesionWars001a.h5u - put this file in the UserMODs folder.
I recommend playing a custom map, even random, Knight vs Knight, as I've already changed creatures' stats but not their building requirements so the game is greatly unbalanced now. Not much, just to have a look and beat my downloads counter
This mod won't work in the map editor so if you want to check it there, extract this .h5u mod into data folder.

I hope, too But, to be honest, I guess that in the changed UI the portraits will have a changed size. Anyway, good job, especially for the early version I hoped you made rather creatures
Anyway, I have a list of some parts of Heroes 5 that I hesitate if I should remove from the game and my opinions ( means H5-like and means H2-like). What about your choice?
1. Traces - the 'smoke' appearing behind heroes when they have great army
2. Selections - the discs under heroes and creatures
3. Skills - a new skillwheel
4. Spells -
5. Towns -
6. Alternative upgrades -
7. Interface - H2-like
8. About heroes classes and terrain penalties - I won't be able to have one type of heroes (neutral) as the heroes won't generate creatures of their towns. There will be 6 types with classical terrain boosts -
Knight - Grass (Haven)
Sorceress - Grass (Sylvan)
Warlock - Swamp (Dungeon - changed texture )
Necro - Lava (Inferno)
Barbarian - Dirt (Necro)
Wizard - Sand (Academy)
Same with creatures. What about this?
9. Specializations -
10. Biographies -
11. Music - change for H2 but leave some H5 tracks
12. Towns - townbuild mostly like in H2 but: I want the Fort to be built together with the Town Hall (I hope it can be done but I'm not sure), Citadel with City Hall together (well+towers+statue), Capitol only in the chosen towns, Castle only with most of the buildings built.
Or maybe standard H5 buildstyle with changed costs and income only? I prefere the second option as it is simpler, more convenient, more H5-like and simply better. If I can't change the income, I'll wonder if I can put the first option into the game.
13. Heroes - casting or fighting and casting as well (with bonuses for might classes in fighting and magic in casting - based mostly on the new skillwheel)?
14. Artifacts - H2-like and H5-like removed
15. Artifact sets -

17. Main menu - animated but H2-like
18. Adventure - dialogscenes instead of messages
19. How many army slots (5 or 7?)?
20. How about necromancy - I'd like to make all-skeleton without Dark Energy and what do YOU think?
21. What about heroes' models? Classical (H2) or original (each hero has his own model)?
22. What about creatures' icons? Ripped, painted or made from screens of models?

As a member of The Succession Wars Mod Team, I just want to inform you that we had many problems in the conversion from HoMM III to HoMM II so a conversion from HoMM V to HoMM II will be incredible hard and long process. I don't want to take you hope away, but have you thought about that one creature is "missing" in each of the towns. You will also have to create upgrades for creatures that doesn't have an upgrade in HoMM II. In addition, what about the other factions that is in HoMM V, but not HoMM II?
Anyway, I wish you good luck with the project.
