A sit-down meal at HC
i don't know about anyone else, but i love trying favorite foods that other people enjoy. and i would really like to taste a little of everyone here's favs. so, if you all could post your favorite meal recipe's(preferably homemade, or personally made), i'd be much obliged. i still have blizz's recipe for blueberry barbecue sauce, and kip's epic stew recipe(which needs more precise instructions). so kip, if you have the precise instructions for this:
-------
Epic stew recipe!
0.7 liter of dark beer(preferably the one that isn't made with this high gravity crap)
2 large chunks of chicken breast fillet.(or any other meat/poultry you desire)
2 moderate carrots
1 red paprika
2 cans of baked beans( I used in ketchup and chili sauces)
1 Red onion
Curry spices
dry of fresh dill
basil
pour the beer in the pot, heat it up, and add the chicken. watch out, it may foam up a bit. after the meat is halfway done add the veggies. boil untill done.
-----------
i would much appreciate it. i don't want to wing a great meal.
post some recipe's(and be as specific as you can), people. if you please.
let's get a real recipe thread going!

here, i'll post one of mine. it's a random stew i made from whatever i could throw together from the pantry/fridge/freezer. i'll try to be exact, but it's been years since i made it. and i only made it once. it was a big hit though.
-------------
note: some of these ingredients are bags of frozen vegetables. if you prefer fresh, then find out how much an average bag of whatever frozen vegetable listed is in pounds, and substitute that much fresh vegetables(although i believe the weight differs between fresh and frozen).
you will need:
1 (or 2) pound(s) of deer meat
3 (or 4) cans of spagetti sauce (whichever kind you prefer)
2 (or 3) cups of milk (for creaminess)
1 frozen bag of broccoli
1 frozen bag of corn
salt and pepper to taste
chili powder to taste
1 stick (or 2) of butter
1/2 cup (or 1 cup) flour (for frying)
oil (for frying)
crackers and cheese of your preference (optional)
seperate deer meat into bite-sized chunks. you want tablespoon size. medium-sized shreds work very well. you could use ground, but i didn't. i cut into shreds/strips/chunks.
heat up some oil in a skillet, and apply deer meat and a cup (or 2) of flour. make sure to coat deer meat with flour while frying. you want the tips crispy, but the bulk of it still tender.
after meat is fried to above specs, remove from heat.
in a large pot or kettle, add spagetti sauce and milk. add the bags of broccoli and corn while heating on high. if the sauce is too thick, add water until it thins out enough. you want the sauce to bubble without popping like mud.
after the pot has started to boil, reduce heat to medium, and add fried deer meat(without the oil). you want all the little fried bits in there, don't miss a speck.
now that your stew is... stewing... add a good amount of salt and pepper. not too much, just whatever you prefer.
now add however much chili powder you feel is necessary(not too much though, you don't want that to be the dominant flavor. everything should add it's own tastes to the stew).
add the butter, and simmer, stirring occasionally. do not cover, as you want the sauce to cook down, and into the vegetables.
after about 15-20 minutes, your stew should be done. if not, cook it longer.
scoop stew into bowls. if you opted for cheese and crackers, add the cheese first, to melt into the stew, then add crackers on top(crushed if ritz or saltines), and devour.
---------
note: the corn is really only for color, but if you want the flavor of the corn, i would suggest roasting it first. the broccoli is for color too, but more importantly, for those tops that like to soak up all the liquid, so every bite is yummy.
also, i did this from memory. the stuff in parenthesis, is where i have trouble remembering if it was one, or the other(for all of it, not just the one ingredient). use your best judgement.
if anyone tries this, please tell me what you think of it(if it needs anything, had too much of something, etc). it's the only stew i ever made, and i got rave reviews from the fam.

Honestly I am up and down with the cooking sprees Fred.
Lately I am ordering food or otherwise microwave... But i don't need to mention the foods to just grab and eat like cheese string and rice crispy treats. However I will order some of these foods you speak of if it becomes possible.
