Synergies
The way they make synergies work is absurd. Only working in between 2 creatures is fail. It will obligate you to take the champion with synergy instead of free champion choice and if the other creature that is required for the synergy is core it becomes too weak almost useless until you get the champion.
Synergies should work in between all creatures from a faction (much like morale-wise), with much or less effect in between some of them, otherwise it will force you to take those creatures and become utterly weak when losing one of them.

Dude I think if they implement a creature like a dryad, they'll make the thing work even if the Treant isn't chosen. It's just an added bonus that you can heal if you do chose the Treant. Pretty sure the dryad wouldn't be completely useless if it wasn't able to use an ability which probably has a long cool down anyway. Making the lineup still work can be done in any number of ways such as making the dragon champion slightly stronger than the treant, or giving it an ability, or I don't know, aoe attack. If it wins, why don't we see how it goes before we start crying the sky is falling

If I'm not mistaken we had the same situation in H5 TotE: Dryad had the Symbiosis ability, while the Sprite had the spells instead. I think that worked fine. Then the choice was in Pixie upgrade, now the champion choice is the question, but having to make the choice can work.

I prefer to have units of the same tier working well together. Remember Centaurs & Elves in Heroes 3? They were a deadly combo.
Of the current Sylvan lineup suggestions, Earth's Perfect Balance also suggest something like this: Root Snakes trampling enemy creatures while Hunters merciless shoot them down and Pixies add extra damage here and there.

Even greater that you could have Treants relatively fast, add dwarf tank, those awesome shooters were well protected ! Then two flyers + Unicorn, that was some serious lineup !
