Events for Campaign story..
we know that Campaigns in Heroes7 will consist
of several heroes and will cover events from the past.
that leaves us with endless opportunities to play
any event from any time in chronology of ashan universe. (before or including the 4th Eclipse, meaning anything before 853YSD)
would like to hear your opinion on what events each factions Campaign should be based on or which heroes should be included.
here is the Chronology link to use as guidance
edit: or this Timeline

Hmmm... let's see.
I have this strong feeling that Ivan gathered this council to not just hear stories. He wants to hear specific stories. Stories of past civil wars.
I think that's interesting that nearly all factions in Ashan had a civil war at one time or another. Someone might call this boring, I call this realistic.
So, let's start.
1) Haven. Being a Wolf-faction this time around and knowing (but not 100% sure) that Murazel is sitting in the Council, I believe we will get a story about Wolves vs Free Cities. It's fitting, it's nearly a civil war (especially if setting will be 48 YSD, though only if champions will be Angels, not Seraphs).
2) Necropolis and Academy. There's really only two choices for them - civil war in the 7Cities and War of the Broken Staff. The question is, will we get those two events or we get only Civil war, but from two perspectives.
3) Stronghold - maybe Kunyak's story. Or maybe about unification of Ranaar tribes.
4) Sylvan - civil war with Dark Elves. Sylvans especially may tell quite a dramatic story and wisdom for Ivan, for the entire war was one big misunderstanding and a lie.
5) Inferno (yes, I strongly believe in Demons's return) - civil war in Sheough, Kha-Beleth's rise for power and Kiril as a councellor. I will vote fo demons exclusively to hear this story (and Kiril is my favourite from H6). I'm sure that will be coolest campaign ever.
DarkLord, better to post the chronology given om M&M portal. That one may be (just may be) outdated.

Although I would like some civil war parts, fighting countless mirror-matches would be kinda boring. Although I do agree that civil wars should definitely take place, just civil wars would be a bit overboard.
I would live a story of Kha Beleth, but who would tell that story? You can be sure that he himself is not showing up at a pathetic gathering of people in that council. My guess would be Xana? (I really have a problem with the story telling device that they must all be at this council thing. It is pretty hard to include Demons in with all this)
And just as a question, and perhaps I am getting this mixed up with Warhammer or something, but, how does time "pass" in Sheogh? Is it just like "normal" time on Ashan, or is time itself chaotic there?

i dont think campaigns will be limited by "civil wars" only
its about heroism or decision making
examples can be very different

Kiril. It's a perfect choice. And a perfect man who could have told Ivan where Jezebeth was hiding.
I don't have any proof, bit AFAIK time is different there (I remember in H5 Realag take a shortcut through Sheogh, saying it will be "faster"). Try asking Marzhin.

That's basically it. Time is an Order thing in Ashan. So in Sheogh, its laws don't apply. That's why neither Raelag nor Kiril seem to have aged.

Question so let's say a demon spends a lot of time ashan will they still age? Since they become/are "children" of urgash time has no meaning to them since well sheogh does not have a concept of time does that rule still apply to them while on ashan? Since they are not of that world anymore.
Edit: I gotta say demons are really interesting because personally they remind me of a mix between devils and demons from dnd. Since I like the fact that they have free to act how ever they wish and are free to pursue whatever path they want to pursue.
Since your announcement of the story format change it got more more excited for the stories still if inferno is in the next faction vote I hope they win. :<

Demons CAN'T spend much time on Ashan. They're unnatural to that world and will be banished. They can survive for some time by scavenging Dragon Veins and some other means, but, basically, demons seem to be unaffected by Time.
P.S.: sorry for my intervention

Well they are unnatural to the world I mean the legions of proliferation invaded the wolf duchy in H6 just them being around caused pregnant women to start birthing out demons and imps. Personally I think demons who follow that legion are the most scary of the lot considering what they normally spend their time doing. I do know to get to ashan they have to be summoned.
I assume they can stay around as long as they want until they are banished since succubi and incubi are normally leaders of cults and act as spies according to their profile.

Nope. Women gave birth to "abominations", not demons and imps
And Demon's inability to stay long in Ashan is a fact, it was mentioned on several occasions.
Nope, normal demons must use some rituals to stay in Ashan for long.
Succubi and Incubi are a different kind of Demons, they were born as Asha's children.

Considering they called them abominations I just assumed demon babies since they weren't being specific maybe Marzhin can clear that up.
So the reason why that succubi and Incubi are used as spies and cult leaders is because they still have some sort of connection with ashan? Since well originally they were children of asha so the rules might be slightly different for them since they are a different kind of demon compared to urgash's original demon spawn.
I mean they would make poor spies and cult leaders if they can only stay on Ashan for a short amount of time.

Exactly. They were born as children of Asha and are not bound to Sheogh. Though many of the Demon rules implie to them as well, like the fact that Light hurts them.

Thanks for the info!
Inferno sure does have interesting world building lore shame we don't see it in the game stories. Still Marzhin said the campaign is each councillor telling Ivan stories of their faction so we may see something interesting this time.
Still I found it surprising that Kha-Beleth is actually a tears hero in H6. I mean he does turn inferno into a nation and when talking to kiril he seems quite civil and reasonable which is a scary when it comes to devils/demons.

let's look on factions one by one..
HAVEN >
as we know the haven faction will be focused on Wolf Duchy
some info about wolf duchy>
The Wolf Duchy is one of the ruling Duchy of the Holy Empire, located in southeastern part of the empire, bordering to Heresh and the free city of Stonehelm. It had suffered several major war, such as slave rebellion by the orcs, and of the invasion by bordering Naga and Heresh, as well from Sheogh
location on the map
564 YSD as part of Falcon Empire
969 YSD as part of Griffin Empire
there is no mention of any heroes from Wolf Duchy in timeline
so the playable hero will be new to audience.
also taking into consideration geographical location of wolf duchy
and keeping in mind events must be before 853 YSD
it can be rebellion of the orcs
invasion of the sheogh / inferno
invasion of the necromancers
or local conflict with other duchies

Or local conflicts with Free Cities ^_^
Btw, there is one Wolf Hero that can make an appearance. Siegfreid, Field Marshal of the Holy Empire during DoC timeline OR Siegfried, first Duke of Wolf.
But I too believe he will be new to us.
