Yep, I mean it's all very well wearing Boots of Levitation on your front hooves, but what about your rear?
Stevie said: Hey Matt, ever wonder how the Shackles of War worked? Your hero casually walks to the other side and puts a shackle on the enemy hero.
Oh, really? I thought they threw them like bolas.

Natasha the Sorceress from Heroes 1, Maximus the Knight (Half-Orc) also from Heroes 1, Roxana the Necromancer from Heroes 2 or Sarakin the Wizard from Heroes 2.
There are also Alamar and Luna from HoMM2 which don't look like white.
As well from H1, Wrathmont and Kastore (with the grey/turquoise I'm not sure even what that guy is).
kiryu133 said: back on topic: really want to see more races as heroes in all factions except maybe haven, though hopefully we can get some elves, orcs and dwarves there leading armies as long as there is some sense behind it and it doesn't take too much development-time.
+1. This was one thing that always bugged me about H3, only humans (and, admittedly, Yog) ever appeared outside of their own faction.

Kastore's an elf (from Terra I reckon) back when science fiction.
Humans being in every faction in H3 while nobody else was doesn't bother me that much.
It shows well the adaptability oh humans, methinks.

And more boring. Also, humans are the only race to have in-game units in two factions, Castle and Tower.

Everyone but the humans become more boring? I don't think so.

Everyone but humans is an obedient little smurf who only goes out of their town when ordered to. Sod that, I want elven knights, genie clerics, dwarven alchemists, vampire heretics, etc.

i suspect that means non-humans? i was mostly talking about humans (and possibly elves) being rather non-diverse but as i said, haven't been able to play h1 and 2 since my pc can't handle it. (shows what a good job ubi did on that ultimate collection)
anyway, mounts? most will work fine with most races being able to ride something (most probably horses) but i fail to see how minotaurs will not look weird on anything smaller than an elephant. not to mention nagas on anything, and i like my heroes mounted. never liked the demon heroes in h5.

I won't mind seeing the "race" difference only on the portraits. It's the part of Heroes tradition. Two models (female/male) per class is enough. Of course, wider variety would be a sweet eye candy, but that's all. I prefer to get few more neutral units than various heroes models .

@Stevie: That sounds like my own thoughts being repeated, all over, again.
Stevie said: I don't think being mounted should be a requirement for every type of hero.
I have been promoting this idea for a few years, already.
But, this time around, as a secondary skill or, as a racial skill: Horseback Riding could be instituted as a movement bonus to the hero and, its overall troops. Then, Logistics could be an added ability at providing troops transports with the sole purpose of greatly enhancing the movement speed + duration in both roads and rough terrain.
Does that appeal to your liking? It could be implemented to all factions, also.

Then your views on boring are obviously very different from mine.

True, although given that it's, you know Conflux (ie, probably the most hated faction of the entire instalment)... The only reason it's not really in the same league as H4 Death is that it was a rush-job due to public outcry, not something put together from the start.
