If I understand correctly what tge problem is, than it has been here since I can remember. It seems to get worse with bigger threads (I'm talking over a hundred pages). The RL photos thread suffers from it as well. There has been theories that it may be connected to the number of deleted posts, but this was never confirmed. Oh, and I know this problem from the Today's Posts page, rather than top 10 replies.
Edit: For example this post of mine opened a new page, but this is not apparent from the Today's Posts page. As I said, I think I saw this get worse with long threads. Don't know if what I'm talking about is connected to Stevie's problem, but I hope this helps.
Edit2: the last 10 replies section does show the 4th page, though, so maybe the two are not connected.

Hmmm is been a few days HC is a bit laggy. When I reload homepage, it can take up to several seconds, also when I enter various forums. Sometimes it works well though. Am I the only one experiencing this issue?

I've sent an email to Valeriy regarding this problem, since it seems to be a general problem about HC itself (the time for each page to be generated varies A LOT, is very erratic. You can see it in the bottom right of the page). Stevie and I also have experienced the same problem.
Word of advice, Val has been very busy the past few weeks, so it could take a while to get the issue fixed...

Thanks for the reports, guys and for the e-mail. I am a bit busy with other things at the moment so an e-mail report helps.
I did some checking and so far haven't found the cause. It doesn't seem to be a database / CPU issue.
- Is the problem still occurring?
- Does it correlate to any particular time of day (please reference in GMT time)?
- Do these delays always show up as a long page generation time in the bottom right corner of HC pages?
- When this happens, does it happen on every single page load or at random (some pages load fast, some slow)?

For the last few days, I've had slow-loading on pages. I even accidently made a double post because I got an error on my side after trying to submit it. Anything that's bogging down the servers again? I know there were some spambots active in an unused section a while ago, that you cleared out  .

I'm also experiencing these slow-downs lately. Yesterday I got an error when posting, after a long loading time, but I thought my posts went alright in spite of everything and they did. Only the loading that got forever.

Thats good to know as I was worrying a lot lately about my connection. HC became a nightmare for me, loading threads I click on takes up to half minute. 30 seconds!

When it is to edit a post, it gets fast. The slow down is mainly to post and quote and, sometimes, to navigate through some places. Which means ... almost all the time. HOHOHOHOHOHOHO

Yeah, for me too. Sometimes I have to press 'Submit Reply' three times before my post is finally submitted and I've even had cases where I had to press 'Post Reply' multiple times before the post window opened

Thanks for the reports, guys. And apologies, I'm quite busy at the moment. I see that there was a memory shortage on the server and just did a reboot. Are the slowdowns still happening?
This is definitely not the modding wiki spam problem like last time (I've blocked that problem from re-occurring). At this stage I'm still trying to figure out what is causing the slowdowns.

Loading pages goes without problems for me. But when I make a post it takes very long to load it

Oh, yes. Sometimes for a minute, sometimes it won't load at all and I have to refresh a couple of times before it actually gets going.

Sometimes, but too sparse to really notice and be an issue. Or let me put it this way: it might just as well have been the connection instead of the server.
