Need help with finding a certain map template
What I am trying to find is map template that clearly exists but I haven't been able to pinpoint it. Me and my friend played probably hundreds of 1v1 games on it on SoD XL maps once random map generator was kind enough to pick that one up. It's always almost the same, really small beginning home area, more often than not woodmill or ore will have none or only one stack of ore/wood, scarce resources and many, many areas which were ridiculously well guarded with Dragon Utopias, good artifacts and so on.
Anyone has idea which template that is? I would like to get it so I can use it every time without waiting for rng gods to smile upon us before random map generator finally spawns it. On top of that it might be possible to edit it a bit so it's playable on 252x252 for multiplied enjoyment  .

HD mod has all existing templates (I think) which you can easily select before the game starts. Install it then test them (reveal map code) until you find the one which suits. Then you can edit that file from Templates folder, I am not sure if they handle 252x252 in actual state.

The template sounds a bit like Diamond, but your description is pretty vague, so don't be disappointed if it's not the one

Thanks for your replies. I had no idea I can check which template was used with scenario information option, thanks a lot for that info.
I did check all templates in HD version last night and none suited it so I got confused. None of the templates I tried supported higher than 144x144 so I'll need to use map editor once I find it. I'll do some more research now, thanks again .

I have found it! It's 8XM8 template. Small problem is that it's not listed among templates you can chose in HD version. I have issue finding template to download it. Can anyone help me with that?

RMG
I extracted my RMG file and I actually could find the template there.
You can find it in link, copy just the part with 8XM8 description to a new file, put it in your Data folder in txt format and then generating a default template will produce 8XM8 template.

Thanks a lot for the effort . I did find 8xm8 one in there and I did copy it to folder with templates but I can't get it to run, I keep getting the message "Could not create random map that fits current choices".
I'll keep trying but if someone has the actual template download it would be great. I found some links for downloads on forums from years back but they all expired...

It worked nicely, thanks. Map seems to be more or less twice as big. Can size go higher than 98? Jump from 144x144 to 252x252 should be around 3 to 4 times bigger map?

Set size to 9999 and in-game set it to XL + underground. Thats the biggest you can get I believe.

And use hota for 252x252 maps.
