Heroes IV Equilibris error
I installed Equilibris 3.55 but when I clicked on h4mod.exe and I got this error : "This app can't run on your PC, to find a version for Pc, check with the software publisher". How can I fix it ? I'm using Windows 8.1

you should stick with v.3.51. To my knowledge 3.55 is just a beta version..

Thank you by the way I fixed it, the only problem I got here is the animations in battles are very slow, how can I make them faster ?

In the options menu you should Be able to set both enemy adventure movement speed and Battle animation speed

The speed is max but the animations is still slow.

This is a known compatibility issue with windows 7, if it is too slow it is better to switch anims off.

I switched the Animation Off but that only works on the Adventure Map, in the battle it still has animations and they are very slow...

I think the issue is only fixed with the GOG edition of the game, but I'm not 100% sure that extents to the equilibris exe, on my PC (core i3) GOG+equilibris runs well but I don't know that is because of a fix or because of my pc greatly exceeding the requirements.
EDIT: maybe a cheaper solution than buying GOG is run it in compatibility mode for win xp?

I'm using the GOG Edition and I tried to it in compatibility for Win XP but still slow...

Set 800x600 resolution in game options. 1280x1024 mode was known to be the reason of slowdowns even in original release. And stop using GoG release. Use original 3DO CD release *ONLY* (not SoldOut, nor MAD, not Ubisoft, not Mastertronic or other crap).

Care to explain?, my equilibris 3.51+GOG works fluently on 1280x1024 (I'm not even running it in compatibility mod), while previously I had this issue many times with the old CDs.

As magnomanus I too have no issues running GOG and equi. on win 7.
Havent tried it on win 8 yet. But to me it would be no surprise if the issue is with win. 8. It seems that with each of their win. updates theres always some older games who turns up having issues.
I also recall hearing that vista had lots of compatibility issues.
For the record my experience is that GOG version runs better with Windows 7 than original cd. I recall having problems installing from orig. cd on Win 7

How did you fix it?
Im having the same problem, Equilibris just wont start.
Vannila Heroes 4 (gog version) works fine. I'm using Win 8.1.

If you Can run H4 on Win 8 but not equilibris, make sure you got all the needed files to run equilibris.
Initially I had some problems running equi., but found out it was due to lack of needed files.
You should Be able to find the files on equi site, Else ask for them

I tried to install Equilibris on Homm4 Complete edition from GOG but when I tried to start the game, it crashed.
I have downloaded and replaced the exe files from Equilibris' site.
Any advice? Thanks in advance.

You need more than just the exe file. There Are some files that needs to Be added to your Data folder as well as a few files that Will replace old ones. On the Equilibris website you Can find a list of the needed files. (Im not writting from my pc, so I can't tell you all the file names/link Them, but if you need Help with that, please post Again).

I have downloaded the files from Equilibris website and copy them to my HoMM4 folder but Equilibris is still not working.
Well, I guess I'll just play with other games then.

I believe this is the right thread,if I wasted your time,I apologise,but I chose to start here,cos I believe that perhaps you know the problem I have launching equilibris 3.51,despite I can play homm iv-winds of war and equilibris 3.41 normaly without any errors.
I have xp proffessional 32 bit system,but 2GB of ram,which the installer of the game says that it failes to pass!But I can install the game perfectly and play it,I can even install equilibris 3.51,but the ICON SHORTCUT IS EMPTY(empty window),and it says that heroes exe is NOT VALID WIN 32 PROGRAM. Thank you in advance, if you know.
