total newbie looking for help understanding heroes 3 mods
so i'm reading the mod post here and it's helpful but i'm a little confused
can i install any number of mods? do they conflict at all? do they cause crashes or will they mess up my saved games?
i just started playing again and i've never modded before.

Hello and welcome to HC !
1) Do a fresh new clean install of homm3 SoD/Complete.
2) Grab & Install ERA II into game folder.
At this point, if you launch you should have wog options in menu.
Then, when you download and install specific mods, go check with mods manager under
From there, you can enable and disable additional mods conceived for ERA.
When installing specific mod for era, be sure to check instruction txt file if needed.
WoG forum link
Hope this helps !

Patch the game. WoG doesn't replace the shadow of death campaigns.

Why don't you post your questions in the appropriate forum, instead of being misdirected here by one day wog specialists?

A miracle happened to your installation. Hallelujah!

Of course, mods altering gameplay must not be ran simultaneously
Given that 80% of wog mods are about gameplay, it would be dramatic if only one could be ran at one time. Gameplay is very vast notion and atm ~90% of the mods altering gameplay are compatible each other. Only scenarios(maps) and big stand alone as Sagamosa are unsafe to combine, and this will be correctly specified in the next mod manager version.
