The faction seems to be taking shape.
Howevermyold question remains:
Quote: A question that rises for me concerning the Nekomatas: The Free Spirit ability: When exactly does it trigger and what EXACTLY does it do. It feels a bit vague to me, right now.

Is it clearer now? I've changed the Free Spirit ability for Vagabonds, Nekomatas and Bards a bit

I am assuming that in the battlemap we have the hex tiles or in general some tiles in which each unit can occupy. Smaller units occupy one hex while larger ones can occupy 2-4. In nekomatas case, if an enemy unit is going to attack the nekomata (meaning that a player has clicked the attack during battle or that the AI has decided to attack the nekomata stack), there is a 10% that the nekomatas will move away to another hex that has each surrounding hexes unoccupied by any enemy unit. Now, the"next to" means that a hex or tile next to the one the nekomata occupies is occupied by an enemy unit (in heroes 3 battle map, it means an enemy unit stack in front, above, below or behind - the same applies to heroes 6 battle maps).
I.e.

In this pic of a Heroes VI map, the Kirin and the Ghost are "next to" the Fate Spinners. The Kirin is next to the Lamasu and the Ghoul. When the fate spinner moves to the designated area, it will be next to the kirin but will have no other unit next to her.

Nice faction. Before I created Conflux, I wanted to do a faction around Ylath. But since we have some similar ideas I had to abandon it. Maybe next time.

Why not go for it? There is also another Shantiri Faction on the making, and heck, i may even try one.
Although if you want, we can link your Conflux to my Refuge and create some common lore

We would have 3-4 units that are the same. Plus, I have a lot of books to read for the university. I'll not have enough time to dedicate to the creation of the faction, composing the music, choosing the appropriate pictures, etc. I'm too picky.

That would be nice.

"Nekomatas: An unusual addition of feline beast-men, surprisingly more numerous on the female than the male side. Nekomatas have unclear origin. Some say they were a Raksasha experiment gone wrong, but old Senris will tell you that they were once cats that heard the voice of Ylath and accepted his call. "
I think that we can actually combine our lore at least your Nekomatas and my Shanitri Servants and Nobles. After they were seen as failed experiment the wizards wanted to exterminate them, but they fled. However, there were two groups who couldn't agree where to go and what to go next. One group led with Marg went with Ao to the south to the sea, while other group is you Nekomatas who ventured north east, before heading to the unknown east.
What are your thoughts?

Could work, though Ajani that you put there is closer to Raksashas than nekomatas
Also, we could say if you want that the Refuge in their travels encountered the Shantiri and through that interaction, the Shantiris decided to try and reclaim their old cities

"Could work, though Ajani that you put there is closer to Raksashas than nekomatas"
Retcon Maybe they evolved differently under the sole guidance of Ylath?
Edit: Actually, it will not be bad if the lore is not 100% accurate. After all we have two sides that talk about their faction from their point of view. If there is some discrepancy it is just natural...
"Also, we could say if you want that the Refuge in their travels encountered the Shantiri and through that interaction, the Shantiris decided to try and reclaim their old cities"
This actually exist in my present lore: "The Shrouded South is the main kingdom, but there are some attempts to populate the old Shantiri sites once again: Sarkomand, Temple of the Unrepentant, The Five Towers, Volos and Elemental Forge of Spring." So
