retreat
Hi!
Sorry for bad english i'm italian..
Just an idea..
When you retreat i think you should have to pay also for artfacts..if you don't have money you have to leave on the field...

Dissagree... Dunno why you have to pay for artifacts, you all wear them... And by the way, change that avatar it is already used, a known hero has it.

Hi guys!
I think retreat is a pussy thing, ý hate puusies ý want to get those heroes artifacts who retreat. for surruender hero must pay for the artifacts but it just pay for the creatures.

In some way you pay for the artifacts as you buy back your Hero. I do not like the idea. Not only would you loose your Hero (maybe the best) you would also loose all his creatures and the artifacts. Comeon, when the Hero flees, he/she don`t want to undress first.

When you retreat, you do not have contact with your enemy so why would you have to pay for something already on you or with you.

nope
i think you DO have a contact with the enemy, since they have defeated you and are surrounding you... i think this would be nice when you can choos, in case you have no money or dont want to pay with it you can give a artifact the same value as your cost of surrender. some artifacts already have costs, i mean the dungeon artifact merchants...

If your surrounded you cant run away. So when you press run away your guys leg it! The only thing i think that could be improved in is if you do run you should keep a percentage of the army that you run with. As surely others would survive as well as your hero.(that is unless he orders them to die fighting while he legs it)

1.Creatures should go with retreating hero if they have a ceratin number of speed.
2.I meant close contact not eye contact since the opposing hero is on the other side of the screen.

Retreating, yes some creatures should survive... all creatures that have a speed of 2 greater than the fastest in the enemies army should get out unharmed. All others should lose a % based upon spped/strength between the two armies... and sometimes the hero should get caught! Also, the hero shouldn't have to be rehired, instead the hero is "unavailable" for a number of days it would take 'em to get to the nearest castle (min. 1 day), after that time passes, the hero appears in/by the closest castle at the start o the turn (if you go to the hero overview screen it will say "Retreating to Whatever Castle. ETA 2 Days").
Surrender, surrender should be based upon creatures and artifacts! And you/them should get the money paid!
It would also be nice if you could capture a hero (all troops would be killed, all artifacts taken), you could then ransom the hero (or put them to death), however a hero has a chance to escape each turn it's held captive.

retreat
Hmm retreating,
retreating is a complicated issue. One thing that confused me is ok lets say my base is under attack (going to be next round) in other corner of the world. What stops you from attacking 5 goblins and retreating then buying your level 40 mage back to fight the battle with the army in base?.
When you retreat you should be returned to the adventure map with weaker army and your opponent should lose movement. so to stop him from atacking over and over again.
Any one play desciples II? i liked the system in that game. I think it could work on H4 (NWC woulddo way beter job then whoever made DII) Well those are my two sense

That's mainly the only reason i HATE it when they retreat!
They keep they're artifact's..
Flying helmet was runnin' around until the end of a senario cuz he had a baltista or somethin'!
