pitlord said: i have preordered h7 at amazon, when will i get the beta key/when does the beta start?
When you buy from a vendor other than the Ubi Shop, the key does not come right away. Beta starts the 25th of May. You should get the key some time before then, but you have to work with your vendor, Amazon, who has to work with the publisher, Ubisoft.

I saw a shop selling Beta keys for H7... That's it for pre ordering exclusivity.

I won't preorder.
The reason is I have to get the money to order a 64-bit system, first.
Thanks, again, Ubidon't...

I'm even more certain that I don't want it than before, if that counts as a change, lol

I bought H5 at release, and I did preorder H6. Collector's edition. The former was essentially unplayable due to bugs (but it was fun, and the story was hilarious), the latter got me bored rapidly, lacking in all departments. Instead, I discovered what a great game H2 has been (thanks GOG) and never turned back to H6. If anybody hasn't yet played H2 ... But the H6 pre-order wasn't completely wasted - still wearing the T-shirt occasionally.
So I might pre-order H7, CE. If they replace this Ivan-the-Dust-Collector by a decent cabir plush. My kids would love it.
Actually, I do expect H7 to become a reasonable H3/H5 successor, despite the concerns about the skill system. But specs are too high anyway ... so when I get a computer that can handle this, the game will probably be mature.

Yes I changed my mind. They showed how the random system works and this was very important for me. I think it is not so bad, it offers 4option just like it does in H5 so I think I will be satisfied. I will preorder it but I am not sure when. Maybe next week

The biggest factor for me will be the intelligence of the AI. I dont buy many games but ill tend to play the same games for a long time. If i feel that i wont be spending hundreds of hours on it and that it is just a little distraction i wont buy it.
Right now i certainly wont be pre-ordering at this moment because it is to vague if the AI will be able to keep up with a somewhat intelligent human player. From what i have seen HOMM7 is going in the right direction on gameplay. And the best features from other games in the series.
I am also curious if the game has been given enough time for development.

I want to pre-order it so badly Sadly I do not think I'll be able. There are so much cool stuff you get and I really want the game, which I can get anyway but I want it first ;-;
I want to decide for myself if I like the game. Of course, some people like to look at reviews and that's fine. I just want to form my personal opinion on it, which might not be the same as a stranger's on the internet, no matter how well-educated/popular/whatever else this stranger may be.
I hope I get the chance to pre-order it... If I don't I will probably cry, and that's sad but true. My life is too centered on Heroes.
I've already missed the chance for Beta, which I guess is okay(not really, it's not okay) because I'll be busy for the next few weeks.
From what I hear, the Beta crashes a lot anyway and is very broken, so maybe I'm not missing out on too much there. Hopefully the actual game works well

I did change my mind. Earlier, I thought that I will buy the game when released (after series of patches), but now I'm certain that I will skip HoMM7.

I tried the beta with free key and I will wait until the game is out to see if any changes were made. It looks strange and I really dislike the whole classes and skillwheel system ...

Tried it, and cancelled. Very low expectations for this one. Hopefully in one year i will check back and the game is somewhat playable, then i will buy it on sale.

im waiting for a serious attitude towards fixing the game
-no im not talking about skillwhell being wheel, talking about its inbalanced power, distrubition and lack of effective governoring
-no support patches for beta, very buggy mess, even after postphoned beta release broke my heart. AI is terrible, skills are inbalanced, flying creatures act very wierd etc etc.. and they can only fix 115 of bugs with one patch, which are hardly even encountered during a normal gameplay. my belief towards devs about fixing game is terribly shaken.
-despite that i've voted inferno and fortress, still not having seen sylvan and dungeon, the only 2 factions that were voted by community, are still in the dark. not even simple images about them, not a single word.
-RMG is not considered for vanilla now, brakes my heart. they talked about this in early stages, and they are not bringing this up, and when someone asks it, they just tell "its probably not for vanilla because its too hard" etc etc etc....this is like a promise beign broken.
-there is no info about redesigned creatures, and after all of this i suspect that they gonna make unique models for them. i have lost trust in devs.
-lots of amateurish mistakes like , 15 euro for one night, makes me look like a fool, and with me most of other loyal fans look like a fool now. this kind of amateurish acts really depresses me. how can i trust devs like this to make a good game?
-somethings like "a second spell for mage guild level 4" are common wishes and i see absoloutly no word about this wishes from devs.
-they are still planning this game to get released in september, with over 1000+ bugs and lots to fix, and they still insist on this. not impressive, not logical to think that those devs are really trying to make the best heroes game. today i watched E3 fallout 4 videos, that game looks much more complete even in announcement day, now thats how a game should be treated. ubisofts acts towards heroes franchise is making me angry.
if i dont see new words/actions from ubisoft to make me calm down, like in a one week, i will just cancel the pre-order and leave the series for good. this is the last time for them to convince me. i was optimistic for a year, but i cant go on like this. im not a fool, i wont just pay money because its title says "heroes 7". we deserve a good developed game just like other titles in gaming industry. look fallout, look baldurs gate, look civilization and then, look heroes. how can i be not angry?

I'm not quite this far gone, but I've definitely decided to hold off on buying (or pre-ordering) the game upon release. Originally I was a few clicks away from pre-ordering, but I'm glad I've waited. My plan is to see if the game is playable/decent upon release, and then wait at least a week or two.
It amazes me that Ubisoft/developers struggle so mightily to make a good game when all of the successful mechanics, diversity, and ideas (older homms) are staring them in the face. It shouldn't be this hard. And good AI shouldn't appear to be nearly last on their list of things to put into a game.
