With the prevalence of Let's Play videos, Twitch live streams, and YouTube videos, demos are uncommon these days. I am not necessarily happy about that, but I suspect that means no demo for MMH7. Even the pre-order requirement for beta access is not new despite how many here have reacted. Again, I don't exactly endorse that; it's just a trend I see.

Voted yes. Imo I think that some devs forgot one of the main purposes of demos: to let PC players see if their machine will manage spec-wise with a game. With the recent H7 system requirements reveal I really doubt that my machine will digest it. The jump is too big! Well I can always use some "other" methods to check the game out but I would rather not...
And I don't plan to change my comp anytime soon. There are games like AoW III or Endless Legend that run perfectly fine on my machine (with almost full settings), and they're not that old...

Exactly. And for that reason, a demo should not come before engine optimizations are final (for vanilla game). An early demo would be just another beta.

I wouldnt download it, the given venezuelan internet speed but i wouldnt be against it.
The user above me is right though. I have Mortal Kombat X abd my computer can run it just fine but it's so poorly optimized that the load times range between short to around 5 minutes long which is longer than a tower match can last.

I personally don't need a Demo of a game. One of the reasons I haven't been viewing/craving every bit of info about Heroes 7 is that I find it much more enjoyable to load it up and be surprised about the unit abilities, town screens, spells, etc.
That said, there are some things I do like to know before buying: How many maps come with it, if there's simultaneous turns, quantity of factions, if there's a user-friendly map editor, and most of all if other people are optimistic about the game.
Heroes7 has some red flags for me, but not nearly as many as Heroes6. I had low expectations going into Heroes 6, and I didn't know most of the game details. Unfortunately the game proved to not even meet those expectations.

You can be just as surprised when first launching the demo of the game. Ye, you may not be able to discover ALL things, but in your case this would be good, as the uncovering would be more gradualy paced (to which I agree). The only thing is, you won't spend money YET for this initial surprise.
And what if it's gonna be a bad surprise? What if you discover, game won't work on your PC? Or that idk... it works sluggish, and there's full of bugs? Wouldn't you say in this case ... "well it's a good thing it's a demo, and I can wait with full version untill I upgrade my PC?" or untill some patches come along and price drops? In demo, you get same surprise as if launching a game for first time. It only lasts about an hour or two ... but who cares ... you get to test gameplay. And why then reading news about game, and read forums etc, if you wish surprise ... dosen't that ruin it?
And even with THAT, the demo is not mandatory. Yes you can buy full game directly, and have it.
While I don't agree with you, your view is valid still. But, the ones oposed to demo for various reasons, would probably be UBI. And if we don't get a demo, I would very much like to hear their side of reasoning. I mean. What are negative sides of demos from company's standpoint? And I don't mean the obvious "we gonna scam the customer" coz ... I do think that is more joke, as I don't belive UBI realy means it ... Ubi-Nox? Marzhin? Limbic-Jaelle ? Anyone ?
