The order of Immortalis
Many mages have dreamt to achieve immortality, but none were as devoted to it as the mages of the order of Immortalis. Ready to go as far as needed, to use the darkest of magic and summon the darkest of entities, they settled where few even dared to put the foot, on cursed ground, where you can find the darkest of energies. People who dare adventuring themselves on cursed ground usually only find death, but mages of the order of Immortalis came to challenge it. It should also be noted that unlike mages from the Necropolis, they are only interested in becoming indestructible themselves, and not in reviving other creatures.
The native terrain of the Order of Immortalis is the cursed ground of course. They have no restriction to spell casting when on this terrain (just like on any other terrain).
Hero : Immortal.
Only a handful of mages achieved true immortality, that means not only time will not kill them, but basically nothing will. Even if you disintegrate them, they will still have the power to come back with a new body. Of course, those receive the highest respect and esteem and are naturally rulers of the order.
Racial ability : My time has not come.
The Heroes of the order have the unique ability to delay the death of their allies.
Basic : Damage dealt to the target stack is delayed by half a turn.
advanced : Damage dealt to the target stack is delayed by half a turn or until the end of his next action, whichever takes the longest time.
Expert : Damage dealt to the target stack is delayed by a whole turn.
Ultimate : Damage dealt to all target stacks in a 3x3 area is delayed by a whole turn.
Tier 1
Gremlin
The mages brought their little familiar with them. Unlike other Gremlins, they won't be taught mechanics, but ways to assist with magics.
Swarmer. Gremlins take advantage of their numbers, the more overnumbered they are over their foes, the higher their attack stack gets.
Gremlin Familiar
Mana Siphon. Familiar have been taught to use magic jars made to contain mana, just like Inferno Familiars do. Each time a spell is cast, (by any allied or enemy hero or unit), Gremlin Familiar catch 10% of the mana used and give them to their hero.
Tier 2
Sentient blades
Many mages don't reach a high enough mastery to live eternally through a material or immaterial form, but their souls can be trapped inside objects, which basically means those objects can animate themselves. However, if the object gets destroyed, the soul will depart and be lost.
Mechanical.
Sharp blades. It is impossible to attack Sentient Blades in melee without simultaneously receiving damage. The damage dealt is the same as that of a normal attack. This ability replaces the normal retaliation.
Soul Swords
Blade barrier. Activated abilities. This unit can combine with any allied unit (provided it can reach it), forming a barrier of blade around it. You can separate the 2 units when you want, but until then, you can't give order to the Sentient Blades anymore as they are forced to follow the stack they protect at all time. The stack gains the Sharp Blades abilities (of course the attack and damage of the Soul Swords is used for this ability). Any damage received is split 50 / 50 between the blades and the protected stacks (before application of the defense). If a ghost is protected and posseses an enemy, the blades will protect the possessed enemy.
Tier 3
Dark Apprentice
Dark Apprentices are still living mages studying the necromancy and occult magics.
Spellcaster. Dark Mages have a spellbooks and can cast a variety of curses and destructive spells.
- Weakness - reduces attack
- Vulnerability - reduces defense
- Poison - over time damage
- Dark arrow -direct dark damage on single target
Dark Mage
Receive additional spells.
- Death Cloud - 3x3 area spell with duration of a few rounds. Every living unit staying in the cloud receives damage every round.
- Illusion - creates a copy of the target stack (allied or enemy). the number of units depends on the number of Dark Mages.
Tier 4
Ghost
After death, souls that do not leave the earth quickly degenerates, this new state of being separated from the world drives the soul crazy and the conscience eventually disapears, letting only a mindless, instinctual entity. Some mage learnt how to exploit the power of their soul, so it doesn't happen to them.
Flyer.
Insubstantial. This unit receives reduced damage from physical attacks
Undead.
Spirit
Possession. Activated abilities. This unit can possess an enemy stack instead of attacking it (the possession is possible or not, depending on the ration between the ghost strength and the target strength. Also, the target must be succeptible to mind control). The ghost then fusion with the target and become unattackable and unreachable. When the ghost turn comes, you can control the possessed stack. The possession isn't limited in time and ghosts can end the possession at the beginning of their turn if they wish (it doesn't end their turn). If the possessed stack receive any damage, the ghosts will be expulsed on a random adjacent case (though they suffer no damage). Being expulsed doesn't make them lose their turn.
Tier 5
Mindflayer
Hiding in the dark, the mage found the Mindflayers. Mindflayers are dangerous creatures which attack with psychic blasts and eat the brain of their victims. However, the more powerful archmages were able to resist mind manipulations and the Mindflayers were vainquished. Now that they fight alongside dark mages, they never had so many brains to eat.
Psychic Blast. Activated ability. An attack that deals the same damage as a regular attack but can be used at any range without penalty nor retaliation (provided that the Tormentor can see the target). It will also confuse the target and reduce their ATB by 0.2. Doesn't work on creatures which have an immunity to mind spells.
Immune to mind spells.
Tormentor
Paranoia. Activated Ability. Uses the round of the Tormentor. The target enemy stack will see his allies as enemies for a few rounds. (basically, everyone will be an enemy to him) Though he can still be controlled normally, he is now unable to perform friendly action towards his allies, and abilities which normally work on enemies will now work on allies as well (for example an aura of bravery won't have effects on allies anymore, but an aura of fear will). They will also block allied shooters.
It is of course possible to cast paranoia on several stack for major disruption of the enemy army.
Tier 6
Headless Horseman.
Headless Horsemen are like ghosts roaming the cursed plains and reaping life by decapitating any unfortunate who happens to be there. Their origin is unknown, but it is said it isn't human, it is said they are a personification of death, like the grim reaper, and show up on the places of terrible slaughters. They appear as a headless black knight, mounting an also headless horse, and sometimes appear to burst in flames. The Headless Horsemen had to bow down when mages managed to cheat death and Horsemen were unable to kill them. They signed a pact in blood and now the mages have the power to summon them in battle.
Undead.
Apparition. Headless Horsemen usually appear from nowhere, which is like teleporting, though castle walls will still stop them.
Decapitation. In addition to normal damage, Headless horsemen have a chance to instantly kill a number of additional creatures, depending on the ratio between the strength of the Horsemen and the strength of the target stack, provided of course, it is vulnerable to decapitation. (which means it won't work on ghosts, golems, hydras or treants for example)
Flame Shield. 10% of all damage received in melee is returned to the attacker, as fire damage.
Doom Knight
Aura of fear. Enemy units in a 2 squares range around the Doom Knight see their morale seriously reduced. (The reduction is equal to the maximum achievable morale value, it results in any value between 0 and maximum negative morale)
Tier 7
Lich
Only the most powerful mages can achieve immortality and become near indestructible.
Undead.
Shooter.
Cursing attack. Lich automatically curse their target with a random spell (unless it is totally immune to curses, though they will avoid specific immunity, like not casting slow if the target is immune to it). It also works on retaliation.
Undying. Liches who get killed are automatically revived at the start of their next round, but their max health is reduced by 25% (so they are revived with75% of their health, then 50, 25 and finally they rest in peace). only liches killed see their max health reduced, not the rest of the stack. when enemy attacks, the weakest liches receive damage first. If the corpses of the liches gets used or destroyed in any way (for example, used for a raise dead spell, or eaten whole by some beast), they won't be revived.
ArchLich
Cursing attack. Archliches cast spell with a higher mastery than liches.
Undying. Archliches get revived with their max health reduced by only 20%
Note that liches would obviously have far less health than other units of this level, being closer to tier 6 or even strong tier 5.

Well, now the round is over. I will try to judge as soon as possible, and it will be definitely within this week. In the meantime, I thought I could already post the next round. Steyn, I did not see any wish for the next list by you, so I just go on, I hope that's okay! If you have one (as winner of the last round) or I did overlook a wish you already placed, please contact me. It will then definitely be in the list for round 10.
Round 9
You will have to choose 5 from 7, again. And there is a twist again, as well
Twist: For this round, there is a special twist, as it will the first double harmony round. Additional to finding the lineup harmony, I also want you to find a harmony in the special buildings of the city. From the following 10 special buildings, you have to choose 5 to have in your factions city.
-A special building that has no effect in the town it was built, but in at least one town, not under your control.
-A special building that lets you sacrifice something permanent (f.e. units, AM-locations, artifacts, ressourcers, etc.) for a temporary bonus.
-A special building that allows direct change of location for visiting armies (could be classical town portal, but also something entirely different. It can also work in two ways or not - however you wish).
-A special building that transforms units into other units.
-A special building that has a strong activated ability, but with a long cooldown. The ability can be usable in any screen of the game you wish, so you can make it a battle ability, an AM-ability or anything else you could possibly think of.
-A special building somehow contributes to the spells heroes can learn, but NOT by simply adding them to the mage guild without any further effect.
-A building that allows heroes to train there, gaining them either a bonus on a stat, a skill or experience points - for the cost of sacrificing something similar. For example it could be a building where heroes can build up Attack for the cost of defense, where they can transform skills into experience points or anything similar you can come up with.
-A building that adds a special and new defensive structure for sieges.
-A building that can convert income in growth or vice versa
-A building that somehow brings another faction into this town, in any way you can think of.
Creatures: Crossbowman, Bear Rider, Paladin, Green Dragon, Faceless, Azure Dragon, Thunderbird
Deadline: Deadline is 25th of October
I hope you'll enjoy this round!
And I cannot wait to see which cities are gonna be built.

If I may judge one round? I forgot to update the last of mine and for the next one I might not be able to get things together.
So, I could come as judge. Is that possible?

Of course. This one or the next one? And would you be willing to potentially do a judging together with me?
also, Kiryu, could you give scores from 1-10 for your last judging as well? Then I could put together a general score again.

Round 9 and perhaps Round 10 as well, depending on my affairs.
Either way will do, separated or with you, whichever seems better for you.
As a judge, I have not much to say how I'll evaluate proposals, except that one must make it worth the try to play with it.

Hard to do since I don't know the general criteria for each score but in quick summary they would be something along 5-6 for Arti, 8 for Panda and 9 for the last one. Not adapted for the current scores though.

Hey everybody. I got a MAJOR time problem these days, sorry for that
Thus, this round will be extended quite a bit, and my judgement for the last will come VERY late I am really sorry for that!
So, the new deadline for round 9 is...the 25th of November. That is quite some time, I hope some people will come back to this little contest and I again want to apologize for my own lateness!

Now. Finally. I find time to post here. AS you might have recognized, I ound almost no time for HC, including this contest, in the last few month. That's because I started my "Referendariat", which is the practical part of the qualification to be a teacher in Germany and it consumes quite much of my time and especially my energy - more than I expected. And much of what's left I spend to keep contact to my "real life" friends. So, that's my excuse and here comes the sad truth: At least during the 'Ref' (meaning: until May 2017), my time and energy will rather shrink than grow. The question I place here now, is: Shall we try to revive this contest and go on with it into (and hopefully through) 2016, or is that fruitless? And I want to make it perfectly clear: I will base my decision on wether the participants want to continue this or not. If they do, I will try to go on with it. If they want to continue, but someone else wants to take over the steering wheel, I will hand it to them. If they say they have enough, I will let it rest.
What I will definitely do is judging the yet unjudged round within the christmas holidays!
Greetings to all of you,
Jiriki9

Hello and welcome back.
I can judge or help with it, but I'm not in the right mood for proposing anything. I have many things to set to track this year and it is likely I wouldn't have proper time and dedication for such contests.
