couple of questions
- How long has HOMM7 been in development?
- Noticing the ai in action in the beta. Is this what we can expect
what the current AI looks like. Or is this a simplified version?
- Lurking on the forums for some time, i`ve noticed people who have
full faith in the devs of this game. And people who have already
given up hope the game will be a succes. How come that a part of
the community is so upset?

This is due to 3 facts (Imho)
1: People have different preferences in gameplay. They have different favorite games (H2-H3-H4-H5) which each had more or less different approaches to few or many parts of the game. Some like PvP balanced, some like late mass armies, some like early game tactical skirmishes etc. .
2: Distrust in Ubi. After H6 many have very little faith in Ubi and it's brand managers, thier art direction and many more.
3: General fear about the games playability-replayability, impact of moder trends. Fear of a bad releas condition and streamlining.

A few notes:
most of the people on this forum are playing fundamentally different games from each other. There is a HUGE difference between playing homm as a 1) single player game vs. AI 2) skirmish game against AI 3)co-op game with humans against AI and 4) competitive multiplayer game against other humans.
For example, I really only care about homm in terms of multiplayer against other people. Therefore, my concerns are very different from most of the people here. I want a game that is well-balanced, interesting, and has real strategic choice. Most of the previous homm games fail miserably at this. Unlike other people, I think homm 3 is pretty terrible because of how I like to play games. Other people are interested in the lore and the story, and others like to play casually against the AI for catharsis. These people are going to have vastly different wants than myself, which causes a lot of problems with people talking past each other because they fundamentally want different things out of the game.

This game has the base from heroes 6.they already had textures and stuff from heroes 6. Yet this "beta" looks like this...
The reasonable explanation is that they started developing it just after the pre orders kicked in.
How are they going to make 4 more factions, and make them work while interracting with spells, bonuses etc??? And who is going to work on summer?????
This game might prove worse than heroes 6!!!!! I sincerely cannot believe there would be worse to come!! The realization really hits me hard from time to time.

Dave_Jame PROJ,
Thank you for your explanation.
I`m a kind of player who does not own that many games. But the games i do play ill tend to stick with it for a long time. And most of them for hundreds of hours. Ill tend to spend some time analysing each game if it has "sticking power" before i buy/pre-order.
Therefore i tend to find the intelligence of the AI (single player), replayability, mod support, easy to use map generator more important. Then maybe someone who just likes to play against his friends on the internet. Or likes to play games for a distratction in a lunch break. Even do i wish that these things like multiplayer work perfectly on launch. The more people who play the game, the bigger the chance for solid support on the long run (expansions, dlc)
I do have some doubts about the current state of HOMM7. Watching beta footage and reading the reactions from players on the forums. The game looks to be in an (pre)alpha state instead of beta. Still i`ve heard and read that the devs are confident to bring the game out on September. I`ve seen the release of several EA games and some other big developers fail miserably. It is quite an achievement to release a (somewhat) bugfree/solid game these days.
I am very enthousiastic about how the makers from Age of wonders 3 dealt with the press. And how they delivered a solid game at release. Just look at metacritic. They have a much smaller but simular fanbase as HOMM. They spend some serious time into the game to make it work. And they delivered one of the best 4x games to date.
Would be a waste to see another HOMM title go to waste. Have my doubts that the budget available might be to tight and that a deadline must be reached for HOMM7. The art/lore from the HOMM series i find the best in the gaming industry. Whenever i see some units from endless legend or aow that have no place in a fantasy setting i think back to HOMM. In my memory it is just like it meant to be.
