This page. On the iconic hero part mentions the Shadow Sorcerer along the pic of the whitr haired woman. Are the dungeon heroes supposed to be Shadow Sorcerers?

@Genya
I don't think think so(well yes and no actually). As I recall during the dungeon/inferno vote they retconned dungeon heroes to be dark priests which I believe these heroes to be also. I don't know if that link of yours is more recent though so I suppose they could retconned their retcon on this thing too...(the description as I recall was very much the same)

The matriarchs were retconned into shadow sorceresses post Ashan-compendium, i think (since they look pretty much the same). But said shadow sorceresses and sorcerers are supposed to be heroes by that same lore. But i dont know if shadow sorcerers and dungeon magic heroes are the same.

@Genya: considering that the opening lore text of the Dungeon Magic heroes + Sorcerer's description is identical to a part of SS's desc, the conclusion comes by itself.

It's very much the description they gave to shadow priests during the factions votes too so I don't really know if they just retconned the earlier retcon(well I dunno which was written first anyway) or just mixed the names(or something else) up accidentally. The early dungeon votes however were all about the dark/shadow priests being the heroes:
"Young Dark Elves who demonstrate this gift are selected for the priesthood. Taken from their families as children, they are raised in the temples of Malassa as seekers of forbidden lore and masters of Dark Magic. They grow up utterly dedicated, utterly loyal and utterly fanatical to the aims of the Dragon of Darkness. Those who rise to the highest ranks undergo a secret ritual that lets them commune with Malassa, making them capable of dreamwalking. When the ritual is complete, their eyes become black and pupiless, and they never blink again.
Joining the priesthood is the highest goal to which a Dark Elf can aspire, and competition for an elevated place in the temple is fierce.
The priesthood of Malassa maintains temples in every city and altars in every outpost. These sacred places are open to all, as the Dragon of Darkness will speak to any who call her, but public observances are few. This is possibly due to the fact that Malassa’s teachings are esoteric and poorly understood, even by most of the Dark Elves themselves. "

It's sad how they also speak of life-drain and mind-control spells being part of dungeon when those are some spells missing from the game

Well, sorcerers can be scholars and priests, why not?
Also, given that their names are identical to H6 ones, other 2 classes are "variations" of the basic Sorcerer.
Afterall, the H6 visuals of the Magic hero was close to it's depiction in the Compendium.
Last, but not least, the names of Heroes can change over time. Once they were called Shade Weavers for example, but "now" - Shadow Sorcerers. Ot they have several names.
Though I agree it's sad we don't have Life Drain or Puppetmaster. Maybe in add-ons...
--------
@Genya: also, Dungeon "Matriarch" tradition may return in the future. They already laid "lore bridges" to Minotaurs enslavement (while in H6 they were not slaves, now some clans view them as such, and Soulscar will become the dominant clan at the time of H5). After all, H7 happens in the past.

Going by that, Priests, Matriarchs and Sorcerers are one and the same, just that the matriarchs got a name change and were upped to Hero status post H5, Since matriarchs were both priestess and witches, the priest shares the same description of the sorcerer and the sorceress looks like the matriach minus the whip.
I'm happy now.

I was watching gamescom video again. Sadly, shadow dragon only appears for ~8 sec, but it seems it's looking better there. Better textures and I liked the colors better there. The purple on him looks more subtle than the one on the site, it got more of a black/grey fog than purple traces/glows.
Strider idle and moving animations looks decent, since he is supposed to be a crazed weird mime. They hit hard.
I guess vampire will be the lvl6 necro unit, numbers indicate his hp is something between 76 and 86? And about ~16% life drain. I would bet for 80 or 85 hp, upgrade will probably bring it up to 100 or more.

Wow, those spiders are really big! Thanks for linking that video, I hadn't seen it yet.
The glowing of the shadow dragon indeed seems to have been reduced compared to H6. Unfortunately the wings are still screwed up, but hopefully the flying animation will have been improved. It is a shame they were hardly shown in the video.

Imagine how much better if things in dungeon would be if referred to as "dungeon" stuff rather than "Dark Elf" stuff? Ie "the Dungeon mages" rather than "the Dark Elf mages" etc. Such a simple change but that would open up so many possibilities!
The dungeon page mentions "elves" 12 times. 12 snowing times. Dungeon is mention once. In the title. I think that speaks quite loudly over how terrible the concept of it is.
Elves are mentioned 12 times in the article.
Dungeon is mentioned zero times.

From the Jorgen article on the blog I understand that during the events of H7 the soulscar clan rules the dungeon faction and that the faceless have left. Maybe a future heroes could see an uprising of the minotaurs, possibly helped by the faceless and black dragons, to form a real dungeon faction instead of this dark elf faction.

@jhb: thanks for the video link --
In battle, dungeon looks much better than on the website. Surprisingly, I like the strider most. This crazy creature would have fit in MaM4, there were lots of silly creature design at those times. Also, colors are reasonable and functional.
The walk-through ability of dungeon might be a good idea after all, because it's not necessarily OP but characteristic and doesn't introduce micromanagement. If successful, it could become a trademark of dungeon.
But some size ratios are still weird. Are dragons pets of deer? And spiders are still below champion tier, correct? It wouldn't hurt if creature size approximately reflects strength. At least, this was a rule of thumb in previous Heroes. Dragons in particular, in H1-3 they stood on their hind legs to fit in their space. If they are drawn four-legged, they have to be smaller and appear rather harmless.

Methods of movement (teleportation, flight, etc.) aren't marked as abilities. This is probably why it isn't shown, although we will be sure tomorrow, when beta is available.
