Tech-Help: Upgrading PC
Heyho everybody,
i wanted to upgrade my pc as it's running games more on willpower than anything else.. xD
Here are my current specs:
AMD Athlon II x4 630
nVidia GeForce gts 250
2x2GB Ram
Motherboard is Asus M4N68T if this is important
What i know that i need to change is my graphics card. I'm thinking about getting the geforce gtx 750 ti. What i don't know is should i change my cpu? I know that it's impact on games isn't nearly as high as the gpu but has it become too old or can i still roll with it for a few years? Also in how far would more ram be usefull? i'm thinking about getting 4gb extra ram but is this important or can i wait with that?
I hope somebody can help me^^

What's your budget? What do you want it to run more precisely?

My budget's not very high, something around 200 €euro i'd say. Maybe a little bit more. I want to be able to play halfway modern games on atleast medium settings. For example i started playing wildstar recently and it runs very bad: around 19fps @ low settings.

I'd recommend getting extra RAM so you get 8GB as this is the standard these days. That shouldn't be a problem as it isn't that expensive. I got 8GB of RAM and I never got a problem with running out of memory even when using several memory heavy applications at once. You can buy only 2 extra GB for start and then if it isn't enough you can buy more if you really need. For graphics card get at least a 2 GB one and you can run pretty much every modern game on decent settings. As for processor I'd recommend getting at least i5 dual 3.6 GHZ and you're good to go. Generally get the best things you can afford and ask on specialized hardware forums for more details (generally online computer shops got forums which are good enough)

Step 1: save up money
Step 2: once the sum is high enough, throw your out dated piece of crap out the window
Step 3: Buy a new PC or components to build one.
Looking back at 2010, that's what I've should've done instead of upgrading my old garbage. 500 euro down the crapper.

Thanks you two. Yeah, i figured i'll buy 4gb of ram as i have no more ram messages when using after effects for example and the graphics card. Processor can wait i guess.
Yeah might build a new pc in the future but then i can still use the pieces that i buy now so no problem on this part.
