@ Heroes 7 Dev Team
omg, this has the POTENTIAL to be the best heroes game yet. wtf, from beta 1 to this.. impressive work!
if you can get this optimized to run a little less laggy and load faster, then we just might have... well this video clip demonstrates my initial impressions of beta 2 PERFECTLY -

little boy - me
chubby robin williams - beta 2 & ubisoft
peter pan - heroes of might and magic
lost boys - the lovers of might and magic
rufio - heroes 3
tinkerbell - limbic
@ Heroes 7 Dev Team: you can do it, I believe in you.
let's make this lucky number 7, and earn the sword!
Please use this thread to offer your support to the Heroes 7 developers too. If you would like to share your feelings on specific parts of the game, please be constructive.
Thank you to everybody, devs and community, for HoMM.

i just finished watching the dev stream with limbic, and want to say thank you to you folks for taking this game seriously... it's obvious you're putting your hearts into it - it really shows. you guys are awesome, and i look forward to playing the fruits of all your hard work. i had previously overlooked x:legacy because of how disappointed i was with heroes 6, but am now going to revisit it. i wish you well, keep up the good work.

Exactly!
No really, I just find these "developer appreciation" threads, where everyone pretends that the devs are some kind of gods, extremely cringeworthy.

I don't think Yogi pretends that they are some gods, he just got over excited after seeing Limbic stream.
Can't blame him tough knowing that they try to make this game good.
It was breath of the fresh air after Ubisoft streams.

I don't know what that was about, actually. As if he did not even see the most of the problems we pointed out, whether on SC or here.

As i said he watched Limbic stream and it gave him hope that H7 will end up a good game. Not good enough for everyone cause thats impossible to achieve let's be real about that, but good enough nonetheless.

thanks Wellplay!
as one of the few people left on this planet who actually walks their talk, i have a high appreciation for others who do the same. the folks at limbic arent just discussing homm, theyre actually working for at least a third of their day to make it; and its quite obvious that theyre busting their asses to make the best game they can.
i have been playing games since the late 80's, and engineering them since the early 90's, and the heroes games are some of the most prolific on both accounts. although i have not personally worked on one, i do understand the complexity involved in doing so, and i do recognize dedicated developers when i see them. from the progress ive seen from beta 1 to beta 2 to the dev stream, we have an extremely good game on our hands. its not heroes3:3D or heroes5:2D like everyone seems to want, but i already have heroes3 and heroes5 on my computer, and heroes7 looks to be continuing the pattern of learning from its predecessors mistakes. the only aspect of the game that i feel is really sub-par is the town screens - those in 6 and 7 being major steps backwards from 5, 4, and 3. however, afaik this is the first heroes game that will foster custom player created factions right out of the box. that the community is nit-picking about individual movement points actually just supports my suspicion that we have an awesome game here.

And I am one of the few who actually walk their time.
I tried the beta, I don 't even know if is a good game, I just closed the thing after 15 minutes in. 2 minutes to wait game to load, 2 minutes to wait between turns (medium map), one early crash which made me multiply the 2 min delay, then tried to load saves after the first day, 1 min delay.
When I sit down and play a game, every second I have to stare at a frozen screen is not "play" in my book. I was enjoying today civ5 at deity, 8 civs, large map and 30 seconds was all that I had to wait between turns and is a modern game. Let's not forget that if a HoMM game IS good, then mapmakers push the challenges, so quicksave/reload become something very common, often even several times/turn. How to do it here?
Frankly, I have no idea why Homm7 devs are trying so hard to push graphics to max, the graphical aspect in a strategy game is probably in 10 position, after fluidity, interface, number of clicks, etc.

Tsk, tsk. The Heroes franchise has its depth, its volume, its "soul". It is all in details in here. People have been pointing out many things, both major and minor, to at least clear out most flaws that are on-going and still have to be cleared out. But then you have the flaws that are made either by accident (like bugs) or on intention (like having bad townscreens or hero specializations).
Devs have already stated that some things are set in stone. Not everyone appreciates that. Some have tried to persuade them and have got some results, like the lich and vampire re-design (although quite hard). This logic you apply is but a fallacy. If the hero moves too slowly on the map, why would they keep their mouths shut if it is clearly a problem? If this thing can still be changed, then we have a chance to at least report the problem. It is up to devs to sort it out, either in vanilla or through patches.
All I am saying is even if this may seem like a minor thing, it still spoils the game. Add to that other minor things (not to mention major ones), then the gameplay experience is being ruined further. So I do not think it will be a great game. At best, it can turn out to be good, but nothing stunning, groundbreaking or amazing.
Maybe devs can work as much as they want to fix bugs, and everyone could appreciate that. It is just "which" bugs are fixed, for they can just target low-priority over high-priority ones. Okay, I don't know what one could expect at release of the game, but one thing has to be said: game development is not the same as it was a decade ago. It needs more money and time, both which seem to be lacking.
We do not share negative criticism without a reason, that fact has to remain crystal-clear all the time. I don't have anything against your positive attitude towards the game, but you seem to be less-aware of what has been happening throughout the development. This includes marketing decisions; the most infamous one to release that pre-order button at H7 site, just after Necropolis has been released, filled with negative criticism that even the devs managed to show their "true" nature through that Skillwheel Philosophy article.

oh, hmm, now what would their motive be for doing that? some jerks out there seem to think it's because of Ubisoft's contract stipulations ensuring a reliable weekly $$$ wage as long as they do so, but of course you and I both know they're developing it purely out of the goodness of their charitable hearts and adoration for the series lol

according to the stream turn times are MUCH improved, but as i said in the op i agree that it is crucial that loading times and optimization receive attention.

@ EnergyZ & Verriker: note i said dev team in the op, not executive team.
unfortunately money is a thing; and, although we cant please everybody, we can do our best, all the time. it really appears to me like the dev team for heroes7 are giving it their best, and i appreciate it. i also know that supportive, constructive feedback is much more helpful towards getting what you want than ranting, and i really want an awesome game of homm.

I think this philosophy can be true of life in general, but unfortunately it's been proven completely wrong and misguided many times when dealing with Team Erwin and the current Heroes devs lol

Agree 3000%.
If they really try to do their best, I wonder why all the helpful and constructive feedback and criticism made starting from after h6 is being dismissed the way it is. While flaming on the other hand got their attention.

I also second this; much as it pains me, the only way I see a future that involves another great Heroes game is if we manage to make enough noise to get team Erwan out of office, one way or the other.
