Alternative for member search function idea
So, as I've seen, quite a lot of people in the past wanted a member search function, and I'm here to propose exactly that... just kidding
So instead of implementing a whole search function, Valeriy, why don't we just put something that asks for a member's username and redirects the user to http://heroescommunity.com/member.php3?action=viewprofile&UserName=<username asked by user>
I think that would make a lot of sense, be easy to implement and would help us, instead of having to go see someone's posts or go to HCM. I'm not really sure if anyone is aware of this, but I just decided to make it public. If I look at it, the only downside is that you require the full and correct username.

Could you provide an example of how it'd function? Because I don't think I follow.

For example, http://heroescommunity.com/member.php3?action=viewprofile&UserName=Herry is a link to my own profile. The username=... at the end of the link determines which profile you view, so heroescommunity.com/member.php3?action=viewprofile&UserName=OhforfSake would be your own profile. So if you want to view a particular member's profile, you can just paste in that link and type in front of 'Username=' the name of who you want to view. Of course, this isn't as good as a search function, but it makes viewing peoples' profiles painless and fast.

Not what I asked.
I don't understand your suggestion, so please provide an example where it'd could help and show how it'd work.

Well, suppose that you heard about someone in HC, and everyone is praising that guy/girl(gender equality ), and you seriously don't want to look like an idiot, you could just view his profile, see what he did, who he is, some of his post, get a general idea of him, and pretend you knew him all along, but in reality, you didn't
Also, I didn't quite think of how it'd work since this is only an idea.

Do you mean e.g. every time someone mentions, say Herry, in stead the forum posts Herry if it recognizes the username? Otherwise I don't understand what you're suggesting.

That's exactly what I meant... *cough* not *cough*.
That's a cool idea, but what I meant was, a function where you input a member's username and then you get taken to his brofile(mis-spelled on purpose )
A lot of people used to complain about a search function, but when you think about it, part of the reason was to be able to view peoples' profiles without seeing their posts, threads or going into HCM.

So you mean e.g. that in stead of going to search and type, say Herry, in the "posted by" field and then click on the link to the profile, to be able to go under search and type Herry in some other field and go directly to the profile?

Going to the post-by field is too annoying, plus, you would still need to go to their posts, while yes, that's what I'm saying. Bear in mind it's only an idea.

I think this is a good idea Herry, I too have found it annoying trying to find profiles.
