Today's crash
HC was down for about 9 hours today following a crash on the server where we are located. The server was promptly fixed by the host, but one of the HC database tables got damaged in the crash. I fixed the table when I found out about the crash in the morning. Everything seems to be working again now.

damn hc, i've been trying to stay up, and all i had was /b/ to keep me company. do you know just HOW many brain cells have gone over to the dark side in those 9 hours? DO you?! i nearly DIED, man!
seriously though. i'm trying to stay up during the day, and /b/ isn't a good babysitter. i've been raging all day long against the children that have taken that place over.
@ val: it was herry, wasn't it? you can tell me.

Was HC offline for anybody else this past 18 hours? I've noticed that it's been going offline sporadically over the last week or so, and then it seemed to go offline for about 10 hours last night?
The reason I ask is because some of the error messages mentioned cloudfire, which makes me think that the server was refusing me personally because it thought my computer was infected.

If you check the H7 forum section, you can see that the forum has been quite busy. I'm afraid this may mean that the problems are locally on your side  .

Similar issue happened again today, I noticed and fixed it in 4 hours. Will look into creating some kind of automatic solution.
EDIT: I've implemented an automated check and repair mechanism. If it works correctly it will detect and repair any future database crashes automatically, within 10 minutes of occurrence.

if the issue had anything to do with the new server, val, then i would suggest going back to the old server. we have been experiencing nothing but issues with the new server. from 90's internet loading times, to constant crashes, is the new server really worth it? people are contributing now, so income should no longer be a problem.
things were better before you switched servers, val. there have been many reports on ongoing issues, and none of them have been answered.

You seem to have a very short memory with regards to the kinds of issues we were experiencing on the old server. The current situation is much better.
There is still indeed the issue of periodic slow page loading times. I've made multiple attempts at finding the cause over the last several months but so far no success. Next thing I'm going to try is adding more RAM to the server to see if the issue is caused by running out of RAM during the busy times of day.

i honestly don't remember slow loading times being as frequent/as slow, before the new server... and i only remember one crash.

During the 1 and a half years I spent here with the old server the new one had much more problems in a much shorter span. No use arguing, be it that I'm right or wrong. Will it fix anything? Make finding a solution easier? Help us get over it? No to all of that, so quit arguing.

I also feel that we had less slowness before, but I also noticed that whole internet is slower, have more problems everywhere.
