Homer171 said: What kinda of remakes are you talking about? Completely new or using old models for it or what?
It's good idea, but none of those projects have ever finished Lot to do for one man..
Reusing the old models with the hope that someone will improve on them later. Yeah, lot to do for one man indeed. That is why I hesitate to even think about starting one. It's a huge task, even for a small game like Heroes 2.
My hope is that I'll be able to play Heroes II with some improvements over the old, more unit slots, a little bit bigger battlefield, some of the features taken from Heroes 3, but the classic feeling when you play Heroes 2 is (to me) I can't live without it.
It's an ageing game but I never get tired of it.
What I meant to say is that I want to start such a project, not that I will do, I think chances are that I won't start it, but I have been into the thought.
I see that other people have begun a new engine for Heroes 3 already, can't wait to see what that turns out to be.

I've just finished the first Portal. A truly great experience, albeit it is a bit too short in my opinion (it took me 2.5 hours to finish the game.)
PS. Funnily, my laptop crashed and popped out a bluescreen (I haven't seen it for a while) just after I finished the main story. I guess I'm lucky and unlucky at the same time.

Just finished 100%, game on 3ds called Fire Emblem Awakening
Perfect game, well almost. 13th instalment of the series and one can honestly say, serie is getting even better! Wii's FE had a balance problems, some characters where too good, while other where 'useless' even grinded. Ds Fire Emblems where alright but first was just remake of the original and second was sort of 'sequal' (game never published on eu/us but fans made an english translation for the rom file). Now the Gba Fe games are pure classic, specially the 7th game; The Sword of Flame, if you ever think starting playing the series, it should be that one!
To FE 13. It's absolutely fantastic game. Usually it's pretty fustrating to get all Support conversations of the characters but in this game it's quite easy and fun. 14 new characters are 'born' from these conversations as playable characters (time travel style), of course these new characters will inherit their parents good skill and father's hair color. Battling on same hex (pairing) is added aswell, what is nice, don't know was it because of that or why the game seemed a bit too easy. Played it on Hard and I will play it on Lunatic difficulty, usually FE games are known for it's difficulty.
I rate this game 9 out of 10 Hp.
Edit: some numbers where wrong

Castlevania lords of shadow 2.
I liked the first part better, but this one was pretty neat as well!
Lots and lots of glorious boss battles

I try'd Castlevania Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate on 3DS for little while. For me, they ruined the series when 2D end.
How does the boss fights work? You know, combared the old escape artist style. Jump, jump, dash, dodge, hit, hit, run, run... Oh the memories

STAR WARS
Yes, well last SW game (non lego) I played completely was Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. Story followed man named Kyle Katarn who was not completely lawful good but was pure Jedi in the end (who could still use lightning). Now, in multiplayer mode you had to choose light or dark, played it sometime and liked it. It's old game, released in 2003 and it's on Pc and Xbox. 7/10 Points, think it was good.
Now has anyone played Force Unleashed 1 or 2? Opinions?
There is Sith edition from the first one.. Maybe gonna start from there.

Symphony of the night is still golden.
The ps3 version of lords of shadow has more become as a god of war game, you still need to jdodge and jump a lot but you can also block attacks (not all) and use the momentum to counterattack. Boss fights are original as well, some are just hack and slash whipe others take on the form of mist and create a certain pattern, others are invulnerable and their relics must be destroyed and much more

Xenoblade Chronicles X. I am nowhere near getting 100% but I did beat the story.
I greatly enjoyed it and would recommend it to any WiiU owner who likes RPGs.

Looked good but I finally have up on Nintendo consoles.
I just finished Lords of the Fallen, which I found to be a reasonable difficulty compromise to Dark Souls.

Must, resist, temtation.
It's looks like between FFX and FFXII, nobody has said anything bad about it anyway.
@Corribus: Ah, so you have become 'adult' then? I tough Nintendo was over in 64 and Cube period but now they are back in the business whit their cartoonish characters. If you don't like Mario & Link, then it's understandable, wait, what, no. Everybody loves Suuupper Mario

I stuck with it through the Wii (which I used mostly to stream netflix), but enough was enough. Nintendo just has a terrible business model all around IMO, and few titles worth owning any more. The only IP they seem to invest in seems to be Mario and Zelda and they give few incentives to independent developers. Shame, because the old systems were legendary. (Plus their price control of old titles sucks.)
(FYI I've owned every PS system, too. Just got my ps4 about a month ago and am loving it. )

if you ever pick up and play "bloodborne", let me know what you think of it. it looks like a blast; even if it's a channeling-progress(non-open borders) type game.

I agree it looks like it could be fantastic, but I probably won't buy it. I didn't care for the tediousness (I might say artificially enhanced difficulty) of Demons Souls or Dark Souls and I'm led to believe that Bloodborne is more of the same.

i've read that bloodborne is a lot like dark souls, even kind of a rip-off of, if i remember right; so you're most likely safe in that assumption.
have you ever tried renting games? i haven't myself yet(since i don't have the income, and my ps3 crapped out anyway), but that seems a smart way to test a game before buying it.

I used to back when Blockbuster was around. (Unlike Netflix, Blockbuster did rentals through the mail, and they counted as one of your movies.)
Still, my game backlog is pretty long, so I usually am a year or two behind, by which time I can usually find used games, even the best ones, on Amazon marketplace for 10-15 dollars. As Prime member, I also get 2 free day shipping, too. So, renting isn't really worth it. I don't think I've bought a new (console) game in a decade, excluding rereleases or anthologies - which are usually priced to be competitive with used games.
That doesn't mean I'm going to waste money on a game I know I won't like, of course, used or not.

oh snow, that's right, they DID have that, didn't they? i HAD rented a couple game titles, how could i forget that? oh well, that was 2 lifetimes ago; i'll forgive myself. i don't even remember what the titles were, or even for what console. ffs.
i bought so much stuff at ridiculous prices when i was in the military; i've been hating ever doing that. if they would've had youtube and clipconverter(plus the streaming movies at decent speed) back then, i could've skipped buying all the cd's and movies that i can't sell for even a decent fraction of the price, now. and they wonder why people pirate snow. (here i deleted a rant that was getting longer and longer. i don't want to keep going off-topic. i could rant forever on the industries that screw the common man.)

Recently finished Avernum: Escape From the Pit. Remake of the remake of the original Exile game by Spiderweb Software/Jeff Vogel. I gotta say this guy knows how to write good games . Once you start to play you can barely stop. Started the second game, Crystal Souls, about a week ago, and so far it's been real fun. Recommend for anyone who likes heavily story-focused strategy games/rpgs and reading books.
