I liked the Tavern sound in Heroes 1.

homm2 was the first heroes played where i could actually win. so yeah, it was more fun for me.

I prefer a female opera voice for songs like these, though .
That makes playing H4 difficult sometimes, because I don't exactly like the Nature and Haven themes  . Especially the Nature one, that's just...just...a big no imo.
This, however, is gold:

Yeah I remember that Haven stuff... but I disagree, I like male as much as female opera voices.

lol, i was going to use "big", but i thought it would detract from the slang "boys", as you usually don't see the two words paired together in the saying.

Heroes 2 get's me nostalgy aswell. Music, sounds, colors, the atmosphere. Remember lightning bolt sound or golem/giant death sound.
From first HoMM I remember best, are the battles whit gigantic creatures. Remember how Pikemans moonwalked towards the enemy and turned just before they attacked (all creatures did that but I happen to have strong visual on Pikemans) or the hit/death sound of rogues.

I ended up buying Homm3 Complete on GOG.com. Played through the first two campaigns of RoE.
Still a lot of fun.

Aye, I remember the Altar of Wishes section...
But it seems that ever since Heroes IV, not even V, HoMM/MM:H has never reached the popularity of the first three releases.

Yeah MMH is to be flushed down the toilets and forgotten, like DBGT.
HV though I think is as or almost as popular as HIII.

I see...well, Heroes V had hits and misses for me. The original game was not pleasing at all. With the two expansions, I guess it's worth playing.
It's fine that it's popular with others, though the two following games aren't. That's not encouraging.

Oh for me too, I guess I'll never say it enough: great gameplay, the rest sucks. But people who discovered the franchise with it will never be as annoyed as us by its horrendous lore and warcraft-like visuals.
