[HotA] Change for Random Map Generator
Hello everyone. Would like to ask if it's possible to edit random map generator to let it make maps for me in such way:
- player 1's starting city on left-up corner of the map, player 2's city on right-down corner of the map. If 4-player map then next players on left-down and right-up corners of map. If 8-player map then next players on corners of underground map.
- no any kind of teleporters, not even single one in whole map.
- no other cities/towns on map except for starting ones (one each for every player), no single neutral city/town on whole map.
If yes then then I would like help for this. A ready downloadable file would be great if possible, thanks in advance.

You can't set starting positions in random maps. Also presence of Monoliths is random.
Otherwise it's pretty easy.

So is there anything to do to make sure that players are as far as possible from each other and no teleport near to other player's town (no early meeting with each other)?

You can't set physical locations, but you can avoid early meetings by making the guards separating you and your opponents very strong, and/or increasing the number of zones that separate you.

Removing all neutral towns can be problematic depending on the style of the template. Roads only go from town to town, so when there are many zones between towns, sometimes the maps generated have no roads. If there are multiple paths connecting towns, only one path will have a road.
Here are 3 templates where I removed neutral towns and/or increased size of guards.Download. I tried some other but really large zones with no roads or a single road looks weird.
Add the folders to "_HD3_Data/Templates"
I presume you are using hd mod? When generating random map, in the dropdown menu look under "M" for the 3 modified templates. Generate some test maps to see if the style is what you are looking for. If not using hd mod, put rmg.txt in "Data" folder
To modify existing templates,
If you think the zone guards are too weak/strong and want to change them, go into the template folder, open the rmg.txt in Excel, scroll all the way right to the section "connection zone" and change "value". If you want to remove neutral towns, at the section "neutral towns". Delete all entries under the columns "minimum towns" and "minimum castles". On templates where you start with extra towns, to remove them, at the section "Player towns", make sure "minimum castle" is "1" and "minimum towns" is nothing.

What about Angelic Wings or Fly/Dimension Door that allows to get through before killing guards separating lands?

Fly and Dimension Door you can disable in Map Editor same with artifacts like hat, wings, tome of air.

Yeah I know but I create random map directly through game not through editor and then save and then open it in game. I don't care that much to do it, it's not often to play vs someone able to fly throguh anyway.
