that was a lie, at least for the time being.
and it is not castles on every step, more like hillforts (we have over 900), of which at least three are within 10 kilometer radius from my home,estate sites, and anti-soviet resistance bunkers.
majority of our medieval castles were built from wood, and as such did not survive.
