The USA needs Bernie Sanders
I did not want to say another thing in a political thread filled with two certain <clears throat> no-goes.
I am an old man now and Mr. Sanders "might-be" true America's only hope. I believe he must win.
He says he hopes if he does not get elected, he believes his campaign will be a springboard for people taking their country and the political process back from the Rich, the Corporations and all the other greed-mongers that currently are driving this once fine nation into the ground.
Well I can hope so but I'm not as sure because; the voters and the system has been so abused, his defeat might be the extinguishing of a weak small flame. The Corporate-Media has a very strong grip on far too many minds and in many ways. Apathy, disenfranchisement and hopeless are attitudes that appear to me to be growing.
Listen to the following interview and if you agree with the man - send a link to everyone you know. This "might" be our only "chance" to get the U.S. back into the hands of the people. What I mean by chance, is that even if Mr. Sanders could get elected, the nasty and powerful forces that are arrayed against him (and us) will not have went away with his gaining the White House; the battle will have only started and nothing more.

I'd vote for him over Clinton, if I was a U.S. citizen. He sounds reasonable, aware and honest.

In many ways, Sanders is the left-wing equivalent of Trump. Anti-trade, immigration restrictionist, populist, unrealistic economic plans, and so on. Not as offensive and more stable, but still a lot to object to. In addition to specific bad policies, the whole idea of Sanders empowering the people against the corporations is that it doesn't work the way he thinks it does - much of big business's power comes from the state, and that's a feature of the system that Sanders's policies don't fundamentally change, and he's giving more power to the state, so if anything, he's making it worse. Also, as bad as the effects of corporate influence have been, I'm even more suspicious of the "common man", with their economic illiteracy, anti-foreign bias, weakness to moral panics, and so on. If you think the elites are bad, just wait till you see the masses.
To put it mildly, the status quo isn't great, but it could be worse, which is why I'm supporting Clinton over Sanders.

The masses wouldn't be managing the economy directly, though, would they? (How can a "mass" be in charge of something operative, even on a hypothetical basis???) That's not what he suggests. He's talking about economically literate people, applying different budget priorities and big capital removing its hands from the election process. Not appointing a car mechanic as the minister of economy.

#BernieOrBust
Honestly he has been about fixing everything from inequality to corporate corruption for over 50 years.
The media and delegates and system are trying to rig against him. He won more than 12% in Wyoming the other day, than hilary yet she got more than half the delegates, who should be slapped and fired.
Arizona is a mess because they didn't let Bernie Supporters vote for him pretty much.. It's endless. The political system is corporate owned and not about the welfare of our futures or the world. Yesterday there were about 400 arrests of protesters fighting against corruption, one of which was a fully dressed retired police chief and a woman dressed as a statue of Liberty.
And Kayna I just wanna say my view in comparison to yours okay. I do not have a problem with any race creed gender preference countryman etc.

yep. and people keep not doing anything about it. protests are a joke to those they protest about. violence is the only thing that reaches them. but then, they have better tools at their disposal: they have propaganda, and the ears of all the dumbasses. they also have their technology that's tied to every civilian hand and home. not to mention, the pentagon; and all the other neat organizations that keep people under their thumb, or pulling their strings. they have the laws on their side, because they wrote those laws to protect themselves.
it all needs overhauled, if you want to fix anything. one man alone(such as your bernie, celf) can't do it. you need a nation. and you'll never have that, because they're too tied into the corruption and lies. they buy all the arguments and the divisions that those in power use against them, to keep them from uniting.

Sadly I'd probably vote for Clinton over Sanders as well, mvassilev (hell, it's looking like I'll be voting for Clinton no matter what - I'd certainly vote for her over Trump). I think Clinton is a scoundrel and liar, but she's the most moderate of the bunch of lunatics we have to choose from. God I can't believe I'm saying that.

Our dear Liberty's flying away
A farewell song slips from Her lips
United we stand
Divided we fall
Today in a subway I've seen a girl
Who doesn't care at all
Keep staying apart
As Liberty's gone from your heart
Just hear how the bell tolls
This is how Liberty's story unfolds

If it came down to one or the other. Illinois primary is already over and I did not have the opportunity to vote at the time.

We shouldn't be so hasty with the narrative of "taking the country back from the corporations", campaign finance reform being a recent proposed solution and a Sanders favorite. According to the scientific literature that I've seen, there isn't a consensus about how much (if at all) campaign contributions affect legislator votes, so if by default we let people do whatever they want, the current evidence isn't enough to override that presumption.
There's a lot to like about Sanders, and his heart is in the right place, but he falls into the common progressive pitfall of national myopia: the poor he thinks of are the local, native poor, who are quite rich by global standards. His policies on immigration and trade seek to protect some of the American working class at the expense of much poorer people abroad, which isn't really egalitarian, in addition to making goods more expensive in America, which also hits the poor.
His educational reform plan is similar: college is expensive, so let's make it free to make it more accessible. However, colleges are good at price discrimination (such as through scholarships), so poor people don't necessarily pay the sticker price. More significantly, he doesn't question the increasing importance of college and the associated credentialism. If a lot of people go to college, then if you don't, you look bad compared to them, but if fewer people go, it's not as bad. Thus, people are pushed into going to college and suboptimally using four (or more!) years of their lives even when they don't necessarily learn that many valuable skills. It would be much cheaper if we could find methods of signaling capability to do a job that don't take up so many resources. For example, we could legalize and popularize the use of IQ tests.
Clinton, for all her flaws, is probably a better choice.

I know it's difficult for me suggesting who should be the next president of America when I'm not even from there, so if I were a US citizen, I'd learn towards not voting the first place. I'm not entirely sold on Sanders as of yet, but I reckon that Clinton is a hypocrite, Trump is unstable, and Cruz will probably fall victim to some birther theory, similar to that of Obama, except that the theory is more likely to succeed with him being born in Canada.

Sanders never had a shot. Honestly, I don't know why the DNC even bothered with primaries. Clinton has always been favored and will get the nomination.
As to voting, at this point, I no longer intend to vote. My vote does not matter anyways.
