Thank you all for all the suggestions, I read all of them and I made a general idea about what I should do with every unit. Also h3 fortress is gonna take its rightful place and kick out the impostor

Ooh H3 fortress! Speaking of which, I would love to see a dragonfly unit again!

So we have gnolls, wyverns, hydras, basilisks, the lizardmen are on their way.. What about the mighty gorgons? Any hope for them?

I think if we wait for the expansion, the Magma Elemental in the Fortress line-up could be reskinned for that purpose?

1. Zombies: Unfettered - The ability fits as they are mindless enough not to get moved by anything.
- Mummies: Curse attack or a chance to inflict Agony with their attack. Or Agony can be an active ability and they get poison attack like the Spiders.
2. If there is chance for Ghosts to get Incorporeal, leave them where they are. Wraiths could replace the Lamassu and get Face of Fear ability or No retaliation to their attacks. Even Life Drain could work but then 3 units with life drain might be too much.
3. Haunted Armor should get the Strider aura ability making all adjacent units more vulnerable to dark attack and abilities. Also, maybe a sweep ability or something like that.
-Haunted Armor and Wraiths should replace Lamassu and the user should choose between them. Wraiths will be more aggressive units while haunted armor should be slower but more durable.
4. Blood Dragons should be slower, weaker but more than ghost dragons. After all they are a form of zombie dragon right? As such, a kind of poison attack would be nice. Life drain would work better on the ghost dragon instead of the blood dragon to be honest.
5. Spiders should be quick and do something to reduce movement of the enemy, maybe entangle with their attacks or something like that. Poison could also work, but since they are living spiders, maybe they should use their webs for something. The ability of heroes VI Skeleton Archers would have been good for them.
6. I think the winged tank would work better on Haven. Winged powerhouse is more suited for Dungeon i guess. If they are bloodthirsty, opportunity retaliation could work fine i think.
7. Beholders can have a magic resistance or magic immunity ability i guess and full range.
8. Minos are quite nice yeah, one of the stronger units of the game.
9. Red/Black Dragons could have their strength increased but then, there should be something to allow the Hydra to still be a potent alternative. Maybe more initiative or movement, or a better life drain?
10. Gremlins can act as Cabirs but without the fire immunity. Their ability is unique enough to allow them to be just fine.
11. Dragon Golems should be an elite construct allowing the gremlins to be more efficient in all tiers. I would like them to be an alternative to either the genies or the disciples and act as tanks since the Academy lineup doesn't have a tank in its elite tier. But abilities for them can be hard to think about. Maybe no retaliation? or it might be too much with Raksasha having the same? Dunno...
12. Ogre Magi should replace Whyverns. As they are now they are pathetic in my opinion. They can either be shooters or support units with no melee penalty, having abilities such as Frenzy or Inner fire or any one support and one offensive.
13. I'd like Cu sith to be an alternative to the dryads or replace them. Make it smaller to fit one tile and the unit can have entangle attack or earth resistance or even regeneration.
14. I still think that the Crusader/Paladin should have an Aura as an ability. Giving him the Sun Deer aura buff will make him much more useful since him being an offensive unit, other creatures can benefit by being around him. Double attack could be overkill for a champion unit even if it is a weaker one but opportunity retaliation or opportunity attack could work.

I want to thank you all for the so needed feedback about balancing and abilities. I will try to find a middle ground between opposing views.

Elvin said that an elite walker would suit Necropolis playstyle better, but being a flyer would indeed make more sense. So not sure

I think if the haunted armor is an elite creature then a walker is good, if its the strong core then it should be a flyer.

Necro kinda lacks mobility atm with Vampire lords and optional grim riders being its only fast unit with over 5 movement. That's where an elite wraith would be a nice fit i think. I already use the whole core tier for wasting retaliations and what not. One unit that can cross the field at least when attacking large units would be great to have. the upgrade could have no retaliation since vamp lords dont have that anymore, along with some kind of incorporeal ability.

This would also keep necropolis very flier heavy, which makes sense given its the faction of the dead. Haven and Sylvan are already pretty much all ground troops. And I'm growing fond of the idea to have dragon golem replace the genie in academy (maybe throw genie lamps back on the adventure map like h1-2 style) which would give their elite tier a construct, making gremlins more useful. Not to mention it would add some much needed change for the academy line up. Also not a lot of balancing would be needed as genies had more hp & lower production that the other normal elites, just trade the ability to fly for some extra defense.

It's a pretty hard decision, it would look better as an elite tank in my opinion, I suppose vampires act someway like this because they got life-drain, but they seem more offensive to me. But role-wise it could be a fast core flier too, but then what would it replace? Perhaps the ghost and it could be a flying tank?

If it stays elite, the wraith could be more of an offensive flier, perhaps even a glass cannon where you need to attack before you get attacked. Low hp, but maybe incorporeal or something to make up for this. No retaliation sounds fitting, but maybe perhaps a fear ability? Not sure if it's realizable, but maybe some percentage based ability to freeze enemy units.

I'm not sure if dragon golem should replace genies, balance wise I'm not sure but they seem to be more support/offensive oriented as well as faster than the rest, if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps we can give Stronghold thunderbirds based on Simurgh as champion instead of cyclops, so Stronghold won't have to chose between 2 offensive walkers and give Academy the dragon golem as champion as a tank option to the titan.

Yeah it is a hard choice with only three elite slots. They both would make cool elite units. Honestly I'm all for any change to the line up, even if it means drop the vampire or lich down to the core tier so wraith and haunted armor could both be elites. Necro gets few new units. Never liked vampires being the 6th tier anyways.

Exactly what I was thinking, a fast, mobile glass cannon unit.

Genies sadly are no longer genies....these djinn imposters have above average speed like the genie, but not the high movement they once had. And instead of having kinda low hp for its tier, now it has the highest hp for its tier at a whomping 75, second place being striders with 60. low stats with seven defense and attack is a mere five so its damage output is low making its ability (gain mana for every kill) inefficient. Really I just hardly use them but I guess the whole faction would be really slow if they got replaced. If you wanted to turn them back into genies though that would be great

Vampires strong elites Beefy genies? Oh my, the game is more of a mess than I thought. I got one tough idea, what about getting rid of all this pseudo 3-tier system and just draw clear lines between units and go back to 7 levels. Would this mess the choice-based growth buildings? If so, I will see if it can be fixed. I don't want to promise too much, but I will try to see if it's possible to add more dwellings in towns

edit: I tried to improve the dragon golem and the gremlin, nothing much just some things changed here and there. Too lazy to implement them in the game at this late hour, tomorrow I will show some in-game screens with them.
