One month development challenge

Me and a friend play the big random template Marathon (XL+U). After beating him with Dungeon against Conflux he challenged me to a one-month development challenge where I play Monere and he plays Gunnar, to see who gets the best development after one month.

Conflux 1 month

Feel free to play it too, criticize it (I know that I am not pro but feedback is appreciated) or tell me what you think about the idea of this kind of practice.

Rules were no dd, fly, diplo, necro, cartographer force-field over-usage or demon-farming (because of this game we had).

Hopefully I can show Gunnars game soon

By the time 1 month has passed on a XL map, I have been on a vacation for almost 2 weeks.
Edit: Practice is always a good idea!

Please show me how you do that on Marathon. Although I have seen many Maretti two-week games I doubt you can do that on this template.

But this isn't a small kind of template. You have to search in many directions, walk a very long path with your army and in many cases kill something like throng of archangels or throng of black dragons to get through the middle. Will you do that with your two-week army?

RNG playes a huge part in this game and that's nothing to do much about. But the larger the map, the more options you have to take advantage of.

Well, having as best hero a level 10 Ignissa start week 3 won't help much for that.

I think each template should have its game play pattern (but I admit I know not much templates, only the pattern they are made on).

For example, if you play at 160% as here, is rather impossible to get Pyre by day 7 with such strong monsters around, so I would prioritize on upgrading pixies ASAP and quickly bang all the zombies golems around until I get the secondary skills to attack the others.

Sprites are main conflux early advantage, or I see you don't care about, therefore you have a pathetic main hero

I never said it was like Jebus, but the bigger the map is the more things you can do. I also already pointed out that RNG will determine almost the entire game. Besides, why do you need for me to hold your hand and go first when there's plenty of evidence it can be done, let alone what do I gain from doing it? It's certainly not easy, but not impossible either and that's all you need to hear in order to do it.

Thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I know this game has a lot of improvement points. I had a bad starting point in my eyes, and did not play my a-game. Lvl 10 is indeed poor in week 3.

Now to my defense:
I sometimes get pyre w1. It is a gamble though, now I had no stone so I had to build marketplace instead. Psychic elements were nice w2 though. With no golems but archers and royal griffin blocking virtually everything I do not see how I could have benefited from upgrading sprites. Also pixies are nice to take away retaliations. Maybe you are right anyway, I am just discussing my point of view.

I never said you thought it was like Jebus, but I wonder if you have any idea of how this template mostly looks like. And perhaps you are correct in that it can be done as fast you say, but there is not really tons of evidence supporting this as far as watching youtube videos which do not play this template as far as I've seen. If it is possible, I certainly can not do it by my own within this year, so hold me by the hand or at least try to understand me.

Pardon my rough temper before Vampire, i've had a upside-down day.

The Marathon maps I am familiar with are a) The classic Marathon map designed for long games against hard armies, designed for long hour games or b) Marathon designed to be rushed.
I assume you speak of case A here and so my question is, do you wish to be able to accomplish this with Dungeon/Conflux or can any other town be used?

Third: Why do you ban demon farming when that is practically what makes the Inferno alive?

Any town and hero can be used I guess, although I would prefer being able to do it with random town and starting hero, since that is my handicap against my friend who needs an advantage.

Inferno is practicly banned since I won many games with it against my friend including the screenshot I linked in first post show how I produced 900 demons by the end of month 2. My friend now think demon farming is overpowered. I agree with that demon farming seems to get better at this template but I personnaly do not think it should be prohibited. When talking about rules it would be cool to do this following default wcl rules, since that would rely less on the map.

I would recommend you to try Tower with a random starting hero. It works very good vs the map against creatures you can be faster or on par with. Make sure to pick up mass slow.

I played a new game, nothing worth for anyone talented for taking a look at since the game lacks quality.

Rules were I start below ground with a crappy hero, no demon farming, no cartographer, no necro diplo, no dd fly angel wings, no grail, no force field, fight misplaced guards, template: Marathon.

month 2 week 4 game
