Character Creation Contest 2016
This forum needs a new Character Creation Contest and I'm the man who is going to give it to you!
For this contest, I am looking for interesting RPG characters. They can be from any genre and aspect of life. I just want something interesting and therefore, no dark elves. There is nothing so tired and uninspiring than dark elves.
"But Omega, what about dark dwarfs?"
Sigh.
Anyways, I am looking for a minimum of 5 participants with the winner getting a QP. I am looking for three judges (who are obviously not participants) to pick a winner. If you are interested in being a judge, send me a PM. If you are interested in being a participant, write down your character here.
A few criteria:
1. Keep it PG.
2. Keep it relatively short. I don't mind a detailed bio but I am not looking for a short story.
3. The contest will remain open for 1 month. The 3 judges will then review the entrants and PM their picks. I will post the contents of their vote but not reveal their identities. At that point, I will award the winner a QP.
Good luck!
UPDATE:
We have our 3 judges.
The deadline for entries is August 18, 2016.

as internet trolls would say: FIRST!
My entry to the contest, my main character from Quest for the Goblet RPG, during the time between my first game and the second one. The bio covers Dragomir’s life up to the second half of the War for the North, shortly after the Siege of Diamond, when the Brotherhood and it’s allies began to turn the tide of this war.
Name: Dragomir, called the Black, Patriarch of House Dragonheart,
Race: Human
Age: 47
Appearance: 1.80m(6ft for you Yankees) tall, medium build. Of sharp facial features. Ice blue eye, has an eye patch covering his left eye and a part of a large vertical scar. Has long black hair, wears it tied into a braid. Also has a medium length, well kept beard, which he wears in a pointy style(single point). His hair and beard have been starting to gray. For clothing Dragomir prefers black colored cloths and leather. When in combat he wears a light suit of blackened, brass trimmed plate mail.
Weapons: Dragomir possesses an ancient relic weapon, a sword((Viking age sword appearance wise)) forged during the First Age of Heroes, dating back to the Culling of the Elves. The blade, like any weapon from that age, is enchanted. For as long as Dragomir had it, the sword had never required a whetstone, being as sharp, as the day it was completed and given to Slibneir The Red, Dragomir’s ancestor. The ancient blade also possesses a form to warn his wielder of impending danger, the amber carvings glowing more brightly, the bigger the danger. The sword itself, according to Dragomir, chooses who’s worthy to wield it, although how it does that is beyond anyone. A bit more than a decade had passed since the sword started to reveal it’s power to Dragomir, once he inherited it from his Father. Dragomir calls the sword Wyrm’s Fury.
Besides that mystery wrapped ancient sword, Dragomir wields an orcish kindjal, a masterpiece of the orcish smiths. The handle is made of Fourhorn ivory, a luxurious material only obtainable from the orcish people. Dragomir also has a habbit to carry a sword-breaker dagger, although he wields it only occasionally.
Other skills: Dragomir knows his way around field medicine and has a knowledge of medicinal herbs.
Background: Originally born into House Sapell, a minor noble House of North Shandra, Dragomir was the eldest son of Taruss Sapell, the heir to the majority of the Sapell estate. However, due to the increasing intrigues of Dragomir’s uncle, Hs father decided to ultimately leave the duchy taking young Dragomir and the family’s ancestral sword with him. Eventually their roads crossed with the Brotherhood, and the two became members of this elite mercenary company. Life on the road wasn’t easy, but none the less, Dragomir had continued with this education, this time under the tutelage of various mages, who taught him how to read and write, as well as to identify various herbs which had medicinal properties, and how to treat wounds as well. The arms masters of the Company honed his combat skills, even though back then he wasn’t the kind to charge forwards into battle, preferring to help the Brotherhood’s healers instead.
But eventually His past caught up to him. When Dragomir was 22, The Brotherhood was attacked by a band of Emerdinan Jannissaries, which were, unknown to Dragomir at the time, sent by his Uncle in order to retrieve the sword that Dragomir’s father carried. And although they were defeated, the southron mercenaries did manage to kill Dragomir’s father in combat. Thus, his father’s sword was passed down to him. From that tday, Dragomir changed. Spending less time with the medics and healers of the company, he could be found more oftenly in the field of battle. Few years went by, and Dragomir rose through the ranks of the Brotherhood, becoming one of the liutenants of The Wolf, then current captain of the Brotherhood. Then the Mikayan Uprising erupted in it’s full fury, and over the long five years of quelling this rebellion, the Brotherhood was dwindled in numbers greatly. After this war, only a few dozen men remained. After a vote among the remaining officers of the Brotherhood, it was decided that Dragomir should be the new captain. Under Dragomir’s command, the Brotherhood spent it’s next five years recuperating from the Uprising, with few new members joining. In about the same time, the heirs to the throne of Merinanth began succumbing to a strange plague. A plague so outlandish and potent, that no known cure worked. The king was growing desperate. After a strange guest left clues on how to find one of the Godly relics, the King personally contacted the Brotherhood, giving them the assignment to find and retrieve the sacred artefact. This event was later called the Quest for the Goblet. During the Quest, the Brotherhood marched to the then unknown reaches of the North, along the way ending up in may adventures, including thwarting a possible undead scourge, battling underground dwelling monsters in the dwarven halls, and encountering the first little sprouts of a larger, more powerful enemy, the Cult of Jagnir. During this time, Dragomir, with the aid of his officers grew into a good leader, worthy of leading the Company. It was during the Quest, that Dragomir founded his noble house, House Dragonheart, after destroying his ever scheming uncle and his son. Soon after this deed was done, the company resumed it’s march Northwards, eventually fighting more cultists of Jagnir, as well as the beastmen that did their bidding. The company grown after each of their little adventures, harbouring people of many races among their ranks. With one of the gods guiding them, they managed to complete their quest. But a new threat arose from the North. The Cults of Jagnir began assaulting the Gemstone cities, the freeholds found in the North, and Dragomir understood that they will not stop until every kingdom will fall to them. They were even more furious,as the artefact, the Goblet of Manara was swept right under their noses. Once returned to the Capital of Merinanth with their quest fulfilled, Dragomir warned the king of impending danger. The king ordered to build a new castle safeguarding the passage to the North. In this time, the largely independent Duchy of North Shandra became part of the kingdom of Merinanth. Back in his home duchy, Dragomir oversaw the construction of the fortress, as well as the large inflow of new recruits into the Brotherhood, as well as expanding his own noble house. But Dragomir’s marriage to Lady Nivera of House Kestrelis would be the last joyous event in his life for at least the next several years.
Several years after the construction of the new castle began and just few months after Dragomir got married, the War for the North began, with agents of the Cult infiltrating the major cities of Merinanth in order to weaken it and spread chaos. Times of turmoil and distrust had fallen upon the land. Eventually, after the infiltrators were defeated, the Brotherhood, aided by few of the Northern Free Companies and the regular Merinanthian military, began pushing back the Cult, but the battles soon reached a stalemate, with no side taking the upper hand. It was during the Siege of Diamond, where the Brotherhood and it’s allies won a decisive victory against the cult, although the cost of that victory were thousands of civilian lives, a whole majestic city and thousands of soldiers not only belonging to the Brotherhood, but to the other armies as well. Not even the demon hordes under the command of the Cult were enough to stop it. Dragomir and the other commanders of this Grand Alliance calculated, that the Cult will exhaust the majority of the resources to try and take the city of Diamond, the biggest and wealthiest of the Gemstone Cities. What no one expected though, was the scale of the destruction caused by the siege.
There is little time to recuperate, and the battle must go on, if the free people of the realm are to survive. Dragomir knows his troops are exhausted, and he too feels the weight of this burden. His only hope now, is to end this war quickly, and see his son and wife again. This is the only thing that drives him forward. Forward to victory. Victory at any cost.

...Second!
Name: Fabian, called “the tradeoff”, Prince of Enroth
Race: Human
Age: 35
Class: Sorcerer
Appearance: Rather short, 1.6m / 5ft. Bronze skin, large amber eyes. Long and wavy golden hair, no facial hair. Average build. Soft facial features. Prefers red silk clothes, the traditional garments of the warlock kings of Enroth. Always carries a golden purse with his most important magic scrolls, who have more than once saved his life from an untimely death.
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Weapons: A small black wand that is thought to have belonged to his family for over a millennia. It is said to have been made from bones of the first dragons. The wand acts erratically under unfortunate circumstances, as do Fabian's other magic often at times, because like many Warlocks it is dependent on his inner connection with the Plane of Magic rather than scholarly studies on the subject.
Despite primary being a practitioner of the arts of sorcery, Fabian is also an adept conjurer, and has taught himself how to animate a small Golem out of clay and wood.
Other skills: Having been educated as a prince, Fabian is an adept poet and musician. He has learnt the hard way how to manipulate others through soft words and playing the lute.
Background: Fabian is the only remaining grandson of King Alamar of the Warlocks of Enroth, through his tragically decreased mother, Esmeralda. Fleeing with his grandfather to the cavernous land of Nighon, he was later forcibly married to Lorelei the Harpy-Queen for 300 gold coins. Alamar was later imprisoned by Lorelei's suzerain Orwald for conducting “experiments” on captured Medusae that Orwald found untasteful, only to be liberated by the nascent Murate and her victorious legions. Alamar become Murate's trusted court warlock and set of with her to conquer distant lands, leaving Fabian behind.
Meanwhile, Lorelei was showing signs of growing insanity after having encountered a mysteriously dead harpy outside her citadel. She heard voices in her head that she thought came from the ghosts of dead harpies. They told her that Fabian was cheating on her, that he was having relationships with the harpies under her protection before killing the moment he regretted it. Lorelei ordered her Harpies to capture and torture Fabian, and would have the procedure repeated until the voices would tell her that her husband had ceased to be attracted to the aviankind. Which they never did.
Between the vile acts of torture, Fabian was taken care of by a young female troglodyte called Softhands, her tribe's witch-doctor, who processed great knowledge of herbal potions and witchcraft. Fabian shared much of his own knowledge with her and she allowed him to create a small golem out of the mud outside her hut, to protect her from her erratic mistress. After a certain point, Fabian developed a more intimate relationship with her, the only creature in Nighon that had ever shown him any compassion. Fabian become depressed and felt disgusted by himself, but at the same time his love for the troglodyte was the only thing that kept him from taking his own life.
As civil war ravaged after Mutare's unsatisfactory return to Nighon, in which Alamar desperately took part on his liberator's behalf, Fabian chose to act on himself. He had Softhands steal earth from the fabled Guardian of Earth below Mt. Nighon, with the hope of making his amateurishly constructed golem invulnerable. In a heart-breaking moment, Softhands told him that she was pregnant – and no, she had not seen any male troglodyte. A deeply disturbed Fabian wondered what manner of creature could come out of their union.
As the battle for Nighon was coming to an end literally above them with his father and Queen Murate on the losing side, Lorelei – apparently uninterested in what was going on in the tunnels above, approached him with several harpies. The theft had been discovered. Considering it sacrilege, Lorelei demanded one of the harpy queens to slit out a certain part of his body as revenge.
Using his the last that remained of his magical powers, Fabian awoke his ameliorated golem and ordered it to defend him. And while Lorelei expected the essence of the earth to take retribution for Fabian's sacrilege, the Guardian of Earth had not been angered, but rather honoured that he had took what he wanted as a true Nighonese should. And the golem took on all the harpies and buried them deep below the ground.
Then there was a blinding flash.
Fabian later awoke in a cave in Axeoth with Softhands and her tribe around him, free at last...

An important character from my world of Allmir. Stay tuned and find out why!
Name: Paret Xol
Age: 44
Race: Human (Dleth)
Occupation: King of Karston
Appearance: Paret Xol, while not overly tall, isn't a short person. Those that have seen him, describe him as a man with a confident look on his face. Speaking of which, his face is slightly wrinkled, but chiseled and very handsome. He has white eyes, like every member of the Xol dynasty. He keeps his long, dark blonde hair loose, and his face shaven. Paret Xol is lean and muscular - a very unusual trait for a king due to them being lazy and decadent.
His courtly garments are simple in design, consisting of usually of silk robes dyed in blue and gold. However, Paret Xol favors gambesons and his unique armor set, crafted for him by master smith Yann - banded mail forged out of Ackket, or the Living Metal as it is commonly known around the world.
Childhood: Nothing is known of Paret's early life. Folks say that he just appeared one day as the ruler of Tonel keep and a small stretch of land around it.
Rise to power: There have been twenty kings of Karston since the introduction of the Xol dynasty to the regal seat before king Ladel Xol, the last of the main family branch, was killed in battle during a war with Blatchen, leaving no heirs after him. A period of turmoil ensued during which the members of the side branches fought over who would be the next ruler of Karston.
Paret Xol, at the age of nineteen and with only a small keep on a hill at his disposal, found himself in a very dangerous situation. He was surrounded by three relatives who would do anything to take over his strategically valuable hold. One of the relatives, lord Tedellor, a cruel and deceitful man, not wanting to waste time and men sieging the keep, challenged young Paret to a duel. Duels between landlords in Karston were a common way of solving land disputes; the winner would take the loser's land, and if the duel was declined, the challenger would have full right to take over the other's land and serfs. Paret and Tedellor faced each other in a forest between their holds, a no man's land, so to say. Paret had naught but a hand-axe and a buckler on him, while Tedellor came in a full-plate set, and a massive flail in his hands. Paret's advisor and his childhood friend, Haals Invan, objected to this duel, but would be the one who helped Paret escape death and win the duel. Haals Invan, followed Paret to the location where the duel would be held - a clearing - and hid behind the trees from where he watched as the battle unfolded. Paret was quick to avoid Tedellor's attacks, but could not pierce his rival's thick armor. Haals knew that Tedellor was waiting for young Paret to run out of stamina and end him with one strike, so he devised a plan to help his friend out. He started moving around the trees, staying hidden from their sight, and began making noises, calling lord Tedellor out. Tedellor got distracted for a moment, but Paret Xol used that to his advantage and didn't waste a second before landing his axe into Tedellor's uncovered throat. The challenger crashed, and Paret chopped his head off. He returned to his keep where he ordered the handful of man he had with him to follow him to castle Telledor. He embarked with the head in tow and arrived at his destination where he was given control over the castle and the land around it. Haals Invan was never seen again.
In the future years he would have success in taking over Karston, hold-by-hold, through war or diplomacy, and would finally unite the land under his rule at the age of thirty-seven by re-capturing Kingsland from a rebel lord. He was crowned in the old castle Faron, which he chose to be his capital.
Years as the king: Upon ascending the throne, king Paret Xol was quick to set Karston back on it's feet. He opened mines, and re-established trade routes with Tribilia and Essoglen. He reformed and organized the army, put Athard Gerey in the position of the Grand General, a position of power last held by the legendary Atun of Petras, who died two centuries prior, and drove back the wildfolk from the western parts of the kingdom. Karston again became a force not to be trifled with.
Personality: Paret Xol is an ambitious man, with his current goal being the expansion of Karston's borders. He is refined and enjoys music and art, but has a darker side that has started showing up as of late; some believe it is due to several attempts on his life that he has barely survived. Castle servants report that from time to time, he would lash out on anyone nearby.
Paret has habit of staring through people, as if he's looking at something behind them.
Other things of importance: Paret Xol always keeps a hand-axe by his side - the same hand-axe he used to behead lord Tedellor, to be precise. He believes it to be his good-luck charm.
He is very punctual and demanding of his subjects when it comes to performing orders. He expects everything to run smoothly in his kingdom, and would push them over the edge if needed.
Paret is also a skilled fighter and commander, and prefers giving orders from the middle of a battlefield rather than the back lines.
